Services
When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) furnishes upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a Government headstone or marker for the unmarked grave of any deceased eligible veteran in any cemetery around the world, regardless of their date of death. When the grave is already marked, applicants will have the option to apply for either a traditional headstone or marker, or a new device (available spring 2009).
A United States flag is provided, at no cost, to drape the casket or accompany the urn of a deceased veteran who served honorably in the U. S. Armed Forces. It is furnished to honor the memory of a veteran's military service to his or her country. Generally, the flag is given to the next-of-kin, as a keepsake, after its use during the funeral service.
Funerals fill an important role for those mourning the loss of a loved one. By providing surviving family and friends with an atmosphere of care and support in which to share thoughts and feelings about death, funerals are the first step in the healing process. It is the traditional way to recognize the finality of death.

I attended a funeral there today, and almost no one was masked. OK, I expected that, given it’s deep in the heart of Trump country. At the end of the funeral, the director thanked us for coming but then said Remember, ALL lives matter. I did not expect such a blatant dog whistle. I was stunned and then deeply saddened for the handful of African American grandchildren and relatives in attendance. Such aggression at a funeral is appalling.

I live 5 states away and when my mother passed unexpectedly they were able to assist every step of the way. I was on a budget and they walked me through every step of the process and made sure it was clear what I would be expecting. They remain calm and professional during some peoples most emotional rollercoaster. The owner did a wonderful job making my mother look her best down to the last detail. I’m glad I put my trust in them during this difficult time. I appreciated everything.

There is no way to accurately describe the compassion shown by Penny Herrmann and her staff. At a very difficult time they helped our family navigate the grief in losing our loved one. If I could, I would give them 10 stars.

My sister in law was treated very poorly when her husband died. The lady was nice until she decided not to use them, then she turned nasty mean. No one should be treated that way.

Penny really put her heart into assisting my family with my mother's passing. She guided us through the process, making suggestions without being overbearing. She was beside us through the whole thing. I believe for Penny it is more than just a job, it is a calling to assist families with compassion, care, and concern. Thank you Penny, Howard, and Rick for all you do!

Excellent, warm, down home experience. Just stopped in without appointment to obtain info and pricing, owner Penny took me in and walked me through everything. She took time to explain everything, answering all my questions. Never a hard sell, in fact shared ways to save on expenses. I would highly recommend this funeral home. Thank you and God Bless!
