In this pursuit, I've studied colon hydrotherapy, nutrition and cellular detoxification protocols, Reiki (energy medicine), herbalism, Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, meditation, mantra, yoga, Shamanistic practices, sound healing, art, writing and storytelling. My professional foray into healing work first came through colonic hydrotherapy and apprenticeship with my teacher, Wendy Jones, whom I studied with in 2004.
Since then, I've logged 25,000+ client hours, opened two successful practices, and given more than 20,000 colonics. I opened Love Being out of the desire to build a practice most in alignment with my purpose on this planet- to offer myself in service to my community and the world.

Services
Via gravity, filtered water is drawn simultaneously into and out of the body naturally, and without force. Through the interaction of water, gravity and skillful bodywork, stagnant waste(s) trapped within the colon are effortlessly released. The colonic method employed at Love Being (based on The Wood's Gravity Method) is the most gentle, and, subsequently, most powerful form of colonic hydrotherapy available.
I am a Naturopathic Physician and Acupuncturist who has been seeing Alec both personally and referring many of my clients to him professionally for over 5 years. After having other colonic methods and therapists over the years I have never found anyone with the unique combination of skill, energy work, intuition, and incredible bedside manner that he possesses.

Alec is a true healer. I wish I could give him 10/5 stars. He makes everyone feel safe, comfortable, and most importantly, seen. Not only do you feel Physically better after, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I highly recommend the shamanic colonic! It will truly change your life. As someone with chronic digestive issues, nothing has made me feel better than colonics.

I'd been feeling constant bloating in my abdomen for a few years, and when I told my doctor she just shrugged it off. But a friend suggested hydrotherapy and recommended Alec. Alec is an amazing soul & vessel for healing, and colon hydrotherapist. I first found Alex a couple years ago while visiting Portland for my best friend's wedding & scheduled colonics for myself, her, and her sister. This is the real deal. Alec holds incredible space and presence for you and your system to release as much as you are able to. He is gentle, mindful, silly and all around incredibly skilled practitioner. You can tell he has boat loads of experience and that this is a big part of his work in the world. If you've never had a colonic or you've had them and been disappointed, I would recommend giving Alec a try. His presence and skill are more than half of what makes this process so effective, in my experience.

I just can't say enough about my experience with Alec. Getting a colonic seems like a weird and private thing to most, so the fact that it was SO good that I was compelled to write a review about it, says a lot. ;) He offers a professional, gentle and compassionate experience set in a spa-like, comfortable setting. I think it is different for everyone, but for me, it was truly cathartic. YEARS of crap literally was released from me and along with all of the literal sludge, came all the emotional sludge that was attached to it and hanging on. There was no pain or grossness during or after.

Alec is the best in the biz when it comes to Portland hydrotherapy. Perhaps even one of the best west of the Mississippi given his lineage via Chakra 17 on the east coast (through whom he was trained). If you are a first timer or a woman I would highly recommend Alec for his gentle approach and vast knowledge of full body detox. I learned more about true health from him than I fed any ND (and definitely any MD) that I saw during my battle with chronic illness. I can't say enough about how great he is! The best thing you can do for your health along with eating clean!

I have been getting colonics with Alec for 3 years. I went to see him because i had gastritis, parasites and fungus problems. Now My parasites, fungus and gastritis are gone! I started seeing Alec after I had my gallbladder removed and was having digestion issues. He was a huge part of my healing. I've had a number of colonics with different people, but no one compares to Alec. The experience I have with him is entirely different. He's so gracious and caring and always explains what's going to happen next. When the going gets "rough", he's always quick to comfort. I leave feeling lighter on so many levels.
