There are many different approaches to conducting psychological evaluations. At Ithaca Psychological Testing, we believe it is very important to be thoughtful and thorough. This means taking the time to figure out the nature and cause of a presenting problem. Generally, it is important to administer several different types of tests during an evaluation.
Psychological evaluations begin with a thorough intake interview that typically lasts between one and two hours. Dr. Krantweiss and his graduate student will conduct this evaluation together. This interview will help determine which tests need to be administered. Once the test battery is chosen, assessment measures are typically administered by well-trained and carefully supervised graduate students.
Fees for assessment are determined and discussed prior to the start of any testing. The established fee is all-inclusive, and a typical assessment costs $1,800. This is because psychological assessments involve many hours of testing followed by comprehensive analysis, extensive report writing, and thorough feedback.

I have been a private practitioner since 2005. My approach to psychotherapy is tailored to both presenting problems and clients' interest in exploring questions. Sometimes, short-term and goal-directed psychotherapy is the best path, while at other times, a longer self-exploration is helpful for self-seeing.
