If your can is at the street, we ask that you leave it there until we can safely empty the can. Our main concern is for the safety of our employees, customers, and the general public. Founded in 2005 and located in Louisville, Kentucky, Hometown Hauling, Inc. is a medium-sized municipal waste collection, recycling, and disposal company.

We serve the greater Louisville area, offering garbage collection, recycling, and yard waste at an affordable price. Our mission is to "exceed customer's expectations by providing competitive and quality services on a timely basis, and by continuing to remain fairly priced within our market." Our team includes people with over 25 years of experience within the waste hauling industry, so we know what it takes to deliver great service.
Services
Service includes: Once a week pick up at the curb. We provide one 96 gal can at no charge. In addition to our 96 gal container, you are allowed to sit out another two 33 gal cans. You are also allowed to sit out 1 large item* free of charge each month just as long as you call the item into the office before your pick-up day.
Please have your trash out the night before your pick up day or at the very least by 5AM the day of pickup, and have the can handle facing the house at the curb. Totes and cans must be placed at the edge of the curb at least three feet from objects, such as cars or mailboxes. Household Hazardous waste (including medical waste), and/or liquid paint is not permitted.
I have Hometown Hauling as my trash service and this morning my husband forgot to put the trash can out front for them to pick up. I got a phone call from their office just a minute ago and she said " This is a courtesy call to let you know that the driver came by and said there wasn't any trash put out for him, put it out and he will come back for it."
Important: Online payments are posted the following business day. If your service has been interrupted, service will not be restored until the payment is posted to your account. You may also make a debit or credit card payment with one of our customer service representatives at 502-361-4446, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm.

Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality
Its difficult to rate a garbage removal business that you have to call to have them pickup weekly removal then when they do they leave garbage all over your driveway. Will be looking for a new garbage removal place shortly. Shotty work honestly.

Really good trash service. I've used them for years. I've had zero issues with them. If I have a big item i call them a few days in advance and they always pick it up. Price is really good also. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

They will solicit in your neighborhood and beat the competition by a few dollars. A few weeks after taking over the service they will send a letter claiming they can no longer pick up as often. So you will end up paying ~$3 less monthly but have your RECYCLING picked up half as often. Of course they can change the terms of the contract but you can't basically a scam.

This company is a joke when it comes to professionalism. Seriously. I solicited their services about 6 months or so ago not thinking anything about researching a trash company beyond value. Because, who really thinks they need to deeply research a trash service. To take your garbage. It should all be the same? Correct? Not so. The trash truck does take my trash. So you get points for this. But you also leave trash behind scattered on my yard. You get points taken away for this. You also haphazardly leave my trash cans fallen over on the road, on my grass, wherever you feel

This place started out as a truly wonderful service! We were so pleased with the courtesy and professionalism years ago. Now, we’ve reported several driver issues and every time the woman answering the phone became very argumentative and honestly, downright rude. It is very upsetting to have a company that is so defensive about their drivers instead of holding their employees responsible, as most companies do when a concern is brought to their attention. It seems this company values the drivers more than the customer and the driver seems to be always right. We are beginning to wonder if the “value”

I have had this trash pickup for years and in the last couple of years there are issues with my can not been empty on the day of my schedule service.
This was not a problem in the beginning.I pay for a service that I don't always have a need for meaning I don't put out a can of it is not full but when I do put it out like I did last night for today pickup I went out in the last hour 3pm to retrieve my can I find that it is still full of garbage and I called the company and the lady who answered the phone had to answer for me.This has been becoming a real issue.

Drivers continually would lodge complaints if the trash receptacles were not in immaculate condition with all waste being perfectly bagged. Any waste inside containers that was loose or broke open was used as an excuse to consider unacceptable to pick up. They would constantly complain about the smell, of trash....which it is their job to deal with and pick up. When I called to address these complaints and mentioned how it was to the point of harrassment they simply asked if I wanted to cancel my service, to which I promptly agreed.

Driver saw me coming to the curb with a last second bag for the garbage can. Even though he had already emptied my can at the curb, he waited for me and then wished me a "have good day" as he drove off.

Promised a can 3 weeks ago!!! Told I could use one of my own, but that meant spending another $50. Then attempted to humiliate me by saying if I had paid my bill I wouldn't have this problem. I was on autopay!! My card changed, not my banking info, and the pmt didn't go through. They claimed they sent me a bill; didn't get it. Claimed they sent me an email; wrong email address!! If I had been informed about waiting on a can I would have chosen different company!

I am more than happy with Hometown Hauling! I don't understand the complaints. We are more than happy to follow any rules and regulations to keep their drivers safe. We have all 3 services (garbage, recycle pick up and yard waste pickup) and I especially like that they email me the day before recycle is picked up to remind me to set it out as it is an every other week pickup and sometimes life is busy with 3 teens so there is a chance I would have forgotten. The email helps! I am impressed with the communication and professionalism of any holiday scheduling or if a pickup may be delayed due to
