The Placer County Farm Bureau is a 501 (c) 5 non-profit corporation that was established in 1912 to find solutions for ".the farm, the farm home, and the rural community." Today, over 100 years later, the Placer County Farm Bureau is still serving as the voice of local agriculture, by championing the industry's success through education, outreach, and political action.

There are over 1,200 farms and ranches in Placer County today. The total gross value for Placer County's agricultural products in 2017 was $ 58,059,000. The reduction is largely the result of a record setting wet winter and spring that led to a significant reduction in planted rice acreage. Numerous other popular and specialty crops are produced in the county, including wine grapes, mandarins, produce and honey bees (apiary).
