Joe's Genie was started by my grandfather Joe Longobardi in 1985, who had recently retired from The Genie Company located in Alliance, Ohio. In 1993, Joe retired again and turned the business over to me, Shawn Hoyle. I now have 28 years of experience installing and repairing garage doors and openers, and still do most of the work myself.
I like to meet and talk with people. I will even take the time to educate my customers on the maintenance and safety of their own door system. I am very meticulous about my work, taking the time to do things the right way, so your door system will operate as smoothly and safely as possible. If you're looking for a reliable, local garage door company, give me a call so we can talk about your particular needs.

We sell and install the best quality products on the market; Clopay and Haas brand garage doors and Genie brand garage door openers. We also sell several other brand name doors and openers. Our garage doors include many different styles, colors, and sizes for you to choose from.
Joe's Genie offers a variety of sectional, overhead doors to enhance the curb appeal of your home and add security and convenience to your life. We sell and install Genie garage door openers, which are produced in Mt. Hope, Ohio. The Genie Company began manufacturing openers in Alliance, Ohio in the 1950's, then merged with Overhead Door Corporation in 1994 and moved to Mt. Hope. Today, Genie manufactures remote-controlled garage door opening systems and accessories for multiple distribution channels.
First of all is the weight of the door, which can range from 100 to 400 pounds. Since all garage doors operate with at least one spring to act as a counterweight, even the heaviest door might feel weightless. But what happens when the spring breaks? If the door is open, it will come crashing down to the floor smashing anything in its way.
