All of our original casitas are two bedroom/two bath and all are ground level. Each has a living room and fully furnished kitchen with dining area. While most will sleep a maximum of 5 (one bedroom has a king bed, second bedroom has a double bed and a twin bed) we also have a few that have a king in each bedroom.
The first 14 days of any stay is at full price. But anyone who stays 15 days or more is entitled to a 10% discount for every day beyond (minimum 5 days). The small room for one additional person of any guest booking a casita costs One-third (1/3) of daily rate of an Original Casita. September is a great time to stay at Las Casitas!
Las Casitas is as perfect as a Hummingbird's nest :-.My husband, daughter and I spent a long Weds- Sunday weekend at Las Casitas in August WOW. Why have we never stayed here before? The two bed room original casita was wonderfully appointed, ten steps from the beach. We stayed in Casita 4. (Insider Info - There is a hummingbird nest there, but I won't spoil it for you - you have to sit back, be quiet and find it!)
DIVING: There are two PADI certified dive shops on the beach within walking distance of the casitas. Both offer rentals (by day or week) of snorkel and dive gear. Both offer one-day "tourist" courses or 3 days for certification. And both have ocean dives in the morning, afternoon and night, plus cave and cenote diving.
New in 2016, Las Casitas now have a private play area for young children behind the homes and near the tennis court. It is the only one in the area and will be fun for all who want a children's playground. Las Casitas has the only yoga studio in Akumal on our property. Classes are given by experienced and professional teachers mornings, Monday through Saturday, in Tantric, Hatha or Kundalini.

Hands down, the very best place to stay in Akumal! We have stayed there 5 times and each time was perfect! The staff there is so friendly and hard working. The individual (original) casitas are all the same layout, but different decorating, and all consistently clean and beautiful! The beach is just steps from your private patio. We will definitely return!

Warm, private, and convenient. Great for children, easy clean access to amazing reefs. Diving, shops, bars, and food are all within walking distance. Staff are friendly, fast and easy to enjoy. It’s a community, and deserves appreciation. The neighborhood moray eel is friendly, and the rays pass quietly by at sunset.

Location is Great. Didn't stay there since only Villa 1 was available at the time and it was very north end and also it was over our budget. However the person " Hector " at the reception is great and friendly. He tried hard to find us a place eventhough it was a last minute request. Beach ,front of the property, was OK. When we were there to check the beach, there were lots of sargassum ( not on the beach but in the sea close to shore).

The owner of this resort has effectively shut down the entire beach front putting up fencing so you cannot access the beach except through your room. They are charging $5 US per person to access what has been a public beach for the past 20+ years.
The locals told me there is a lawsuit against the owner right now to try to reopen the beach to the public. They expect to win the lawsuit, but said it will take many months to finalize.
The condos show their age on the outside. They are suitable for housing but are not luxurious. They are arguably the most dated lodging on the beach in Akumal.

We have been here several times over the past 20 years. It has gotten very busy, but they have places restrictions on tours in the bay. The beach is beautiful and the restaurants nearby are perfect. The casitas themselves are great. Full kitchens, patios, shade, beach. They will arrange massages, help with recommendations for food and are very responsive. The manager leaves his cell phone number if you need help after hours.

Fourth time at Las Casitas. Ideal for families. Can't think of anything I would change. The sea, just yards away, is like an aquarium: squid, turtles, rays and colorful fish. Super friendly dive shop next door with 3 daytime excursions and nightly diving. Dark skies for star gazing. Three versatile restaurants within 10 minute walk. Staff is friendly and efficient. Laundry and groceries at the town 5 minutes drive away. Just careful with the ants in the house as they will swarm any uncovered food within minutes.
