Participation in an acting class is not just about memorizing lines or reciting a monologue. This is where children are encouraged to think creatively. This is where they develop self-confidence as they step out of their comfort zone in an environment where they are allowed (and encouraged!) to make mistakes and learn from them.
Through experiences in acting class, children learn to break down. Singing produces benefits and results that might surprise you. The urge to sing- and to hear others sing- is in our genes. Singing, like laughter, play, sunshine and exercise- helps maintain our well-being and happiness. Singing is therefore fundamentally enriching.

Services
We appreciate your support of CaPAA's need-based Scholarship Program. All children deserve a safe place to participate in the arts in order for them to explore, create and in some cases, find their passions. Your donation is much appreciated. Our goal is for 20% of our CaPAA kids to receive some financial assistance in order to attend our programming throughout the year (lessons, productions, classes and more) and during the summer camp season.
CaPAA's new home at the Ritz Building on Wyoming Ave in Scranton, PA has a variety of unique spaces to hold your next special event. The historic RITZ THEATER (first opened in 1907) can be configured for traditional theater-style seating (up to 500 guests) or table/chairs (up to 375 guests) for a variety of events.
CaPAA is helping students & families get back to a normal, on-site learning routine in a welcoming & safe environment. Small Student Groups with plenty of room to social distance, CDC guidelines strictly enforced currently.
Leadership from an experienced, highly professional staff of educators who are masters in their field - NEPA's top directors, music directors, choreographers, technical directors, set designers, hair & makeup designers, set builders & more- are all on site here at CCC and working with our CCC kids everyday!.Gather in the Black Box Cafe by 8:30am for morning announcements & some social time with peers.

The Ritz Mainstage Players was formed in 2018 at the Ritz Theater & Performing Arts Center in Scranton, PA by a troupe of dedicated actors, directors, music directors, choreographers & tech crew members. There was a strong desire at that time to bring semi-professional theatre opportunities to Scranton and the larger community in NEPA.
Sheri and Michael Melcher have over 25 years of experience working for and directing outstanding performing arts programs in the Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley areas. The Creative and Performing Arts Academy of NEPA is based on a model that they were first introduced to back in 1995. The Melchers worked for a fantastic couple, Mr. and Mrs. O'Riley, at Spring Lake Farm Day Camp in Ambler, PA.

So far so good. We've only had one class but my girls (who were VERY apprehensive about going) came out EXTREMELY excited and completely comfortable. The entire staff was extremely kind and welcoming. I stayed for the beginning of the class and they were really great with the kids.
I also read about fundraisers they hold so that children who can't afford it can also attend. I think that is really great as this seems like an amazing program that could really benefit our children in a lot of ways. They can excel in the performing arts but also with social skills, public speaking, group
