Oak Point Fresh Market is owned and operated by the Sumich Family which has operated in the supermarket industry since 1956 with its first store in Buras, La which was located at the beginning of the Mississippi River Delta. Our Oak Point Fresh Market location is 30,000 sq ft of super market shopping delight that opened in August of 2006.
It is owned by John and Carmel Sumich who have operated Delta Food Mart in Buras for 25 years. It is managed by the 3rd generation on the Sumich family Jonathan and Joshua Sumich. John's father and mother Matthew and Willie Sumich began the supermarket business in Buras in 1956 and started the tradition of friendly service and quality products and strong community pride.

Wow! I ordered lunch for the whole company today. 139 BBQ leg quarter plates. They were perfect! Justin and they the whole Deli staff were so friendly. They knew exactly what order was mine and already had it loaded up when we arrived. Justin took it out to our truck and helped our guys load it. Food quality and portion size were perfect! Great food. Great service. Great value. Oak Point Deli will be my go-to for catered lunches all the time!

Best grocery store in town. Great hours and we love our on line pickup service. With Covid 19 everywhere ,the on line shopping and seniors morning shopping are a blessing. The deli is great. We go there a lot to pick up dinner and lunch. Best king cakes around.They have a wide selection of items including last minute gift ideas. If you don't see an item, they will order it for you. They have done that several times for us and we appreciate the family service and atmosphere.

This grocery store deserves 5 stars for their friendly, helpful customer service alone but their in house bakery is superb. I've been there many times when the delicious sweet smells from the bakery fills the store and I can tell you I usually leave with a cake. The kiss is my favorite with its sweet sour cream or cream cheese frosting I'm not sure which of the two it is but double damn it's good then it's topped with a decadent rich milk chocolate ganache OMG !!!!
But they also make lemon & chocolate doberge cake or u do half n half. The Italian cake is also delicious

Great Customer Service. Clean store. No waiting at check out. The bag person will bring groceries to car if helped is needed. Meat department is great and prices are very good. There is a Deli, Salad Bar, Sushi and Hibachi Bar, BBQ Bar, as well as a daily hot food bar with soup. The King Cakes are AMAZING and one of the best in BR. I will shop here and pay 5 cents more for an item than go to local Walmart.

I work close to here so I'm here frequently. The owners came here originally to Watson after Katrina and then expanded to Central. These are great folks, they treat their employees well and know the grocery business. They carry a great selection and often times I can find ingredients here that I can't find elsewhere. And, if you ask them to carry something specific, they do their best to oblige. Great store!!

This store is very nice and clean with great selections. Large liquor department with plenty of craft beer. Sushi made in house, deli, salad bar, large produce department and all of your grocery needs. Their deli has rotisserie chickens, pre-pack foods, they have meat & seafood counters too. It's a locally owned place with very friendly service. Always nice coming here, my cashiers have always been friendly.

Not anymore! Want to get ripped off with high prices, come here. Want rude managers, especially Breanna (which I had to ask a cashier because she hides her name tag) or the one who now claims she be rude because she is pregnant. Does she think she is the only woman who has ever been pregnant? No excuse. This store has gone downhill. The good employees have quit because of these hateful people, yet the higher ups cant see this? Wow! Hate seeing their filthy, torn American flag in the front of store, disgusting.
