Evolutionary Studios was founded in 2014 by master artist and body art pioneer Kevin Stewart. His vision for the future of body art became a reality as the clinical style facility was completed in the heart of Hendersonville, Tennessee. In just their first year Evolutionary Studios was named "Best Tattoo Shop in Nashville", with over a dozen additional awards to follow in the years since.
Evolutionary Studios utilizes a unique approach to body art, in that medical science is the foundation by which all procedures are created. Each artist has passed an accelerated training program, which is modeled after college courses in anatomy and physiology. Each artist is also certified in first-aid and CPR at minimum.

When you return for your appointment, your design is guaranteed to be ready for your review. A tattoo is an expression of your individuality.

Very clean, professional, and perfectly executed tattoo. I have visited this studio twice. Once for a helix piercing and then for my first tattoo. I have a very low threshold for pain and Megan was incredibly patient and gentle. It was a wonderful first experience and I will be back. The artwork is beautiful and I cannot be more pleased. The shop is super clean. The owner, Kevin, is also very professional and informative. This is the best tattoo establishment in Sumner county.

I received my second set of piercings that I've gotten here today! I only trust Evolutionary Studios with my piercings. They're fantastic. Always very clean and friendly. Casey (please correct me if this is the incorrect spelling) was so sweet and made my experience very enjoyable and made sure I had everything I needed for the after-care of my piercings. 10/10 reccomend coming here if you're looking for someone to do it quickly but with professional perfection.

Kevin was so kind. I had oral surgery and had to reschedule. He never once got frustrated with me, rescheduled within days and even allowed me to add a piercing last minute. He was great, his staff was great… and the shop was impeccable!! Hands down the best I’ve ever gone to. I’ve been to plenty throughout my life. Thanks everyone. I can’t wait to see you again in august.

Fantastic tattoo shop. My artist, Brittany, worked with me on everything. She loved my ideas for future tattoos as well. The owner is super kind as well, the store was extremely clean. Brittany showed me a ton of her personal artwork because our art styles are similar. Definitely coming back for more ! The service, the work, and everything was fantastic and excellent. I don't think I'd go somewhere else personally !

Great tattoo studio right in the heart of Hendersonville Tennessee. Consistently ranked one of the best in Nashville...and with good reason! The owner - Kevin Stewart - is awesome. Kevin is very intentional… about maintaining a clean studio and creates a comfortable environment. As an artist, Kevin is top notch. We’ve been working together on my ink for years and each session is better than the last. His staff is friendly and personable.
Yeah there are lots of studios and artists in Nashville, but for my money, I’ll pick Evolutionary every time. Trust me, you should too!!

***Unfortunately I must update this rating for my husband*** I have been to the studio for 4 visits which I've spent a minimum of 200.00 plus tip each visit and I have had MINIMAL progress made on my tattoo. The tattoo has cost me 1,000.00 and looks like I've spent maybe 500.00.

I came into Evolutionary Studios to get my nose pierced after a few friends had recommended them to me. While filling my paperwork out, I asked the woman at the desk, I believe her name was Kayla, if I needed a mask on since the paperwork asked that I needed to sign my initials agreeing to wear a mask. She told me how I didn't need to, and went on to say how she wasn't wearing a mask that day because she was "over it" and because her boss wasn't there so she wasn't going to wear the mask. Okay, unprofessional, but whatever. Moving on.

Kevin is extremely knowledgeable with tattoo procedures, cleanliness, and even tattoo laws. He was very professional, patient, suggested ideas, and made sure everything was perfectly what I wanted before he started.
He checks on you during the procedure to see if you’re ok or need a break. He allots enough time between appointments so that you don’t feel like he’s rushing. His prices are MORE than reasonable.
Overall, this guy and his studio are 10/10!

Was able to schedule a same day appointment for my septum piercing. The piercer was highly amicable and professional and made my first piercing experience a good one! It is 6 days later and following the advice given to me, my septum is healing very well with no signs of infection. The piercer seemed to know what he was talking about and the jewelry used was a proper internally threaded curved barbell. I actually missed my first appointment time but the piercer was more than willing to schedule me for a later time a couple hours later. Would highly recommend!

I've only been in Hendersonville for 3 weeks. I was ready to get my 4th tattoo but didn't know anything about any of the places here. I did my research and Evolutionary had two things I was looking for, the individual rooms for privacy and excellent reviews. Cayla did my tattoo, she took my idea and mish-mash of things I wanted and put them into a solid piece. I couldn't be more happy and we already talked about the design for my next beautiful piece.

Evolutionary Studios is one great place to get your tattoo! I am very pleased with the work Kevin did on my Celtic Blacksmith chest piece. Kevin is extremely professional, and makes sure you know what you are stepping into with the tattoo, and is also very open to ideas and tries to help the entire process to go smoothly so that a person ends up with one (or more) amazing tattoo. It was an absolute pleasure to be tattooed by such a professional, and their studio is very clean! Do yourself a favor and definitely consider and take a look at Evolutionary studios for your next tattoo!

I did quite a bit of research on which tattoo studio to go to in Hendersonville to get my first tattoo done. As it was going to be my first tattoo, I was quite a bit nervous about it, and wanted to go to one of the best.
Evolutionary Studios had some pretty great reviews, and after looking at some of their artwork, I decided to choose them! I reached out to Kevin, who at that time was the only tatoo artist there, and sent him some pictures and gave him my vision of what I wanted. He told me he would love to work on my design, and told me I could come in on the day I requested.
