First tip: if you're in a room with a tub and shower, pull down on the tub spout rim to activate the shower. I took a weird bird bath until someone told me how that works. Tip 2: if you call the desk after hours, hold on through the message and someone is always on call.
I would gladly stay here again in a back corner room. I was in 302, where the view was terrible but the space was excellent for doing a workout between the bed and tv stand. It was quiet.
I love the exposed brick and the decor but wonder why there are two gorgeous light fixtures flaming the bed with a switch by the bathroom

The location was amazing. Staff was extra friendly (even when we couldn’t get our mobile key to work- we called them at 1AM and they fixed it right away)! Room was so cozy and bed was incredible!! Even though there is a bar downstairs, we brought a fan and couldn’t hear any noise. My husband and I are both teachers and coaches, so we needed a little getaway. Everything was absolutely perfect. We will be staying here when we visit Florence.

Beautiful hotel on Florence's main drive. We originally booked our stay for a month ago but had to change it twice due to my husband being in the hospital--I called to change dates twice thinking they'd say no refunds on cancellation like most hotels (especially day of), but the Stricklin was amazing and accommodating and easily changed our dates for us. So already the stay was off to a good start.
We finally got to fulfill our booking last night. Super sweet front desk worker, very comfortable rooms and a beautiful modern style. Our room overlooked Court Street and all of downtown Florence

The Stricklin is very nice and decorated very elegantly. The only reason he gets four stars is because the rooms being downtown can be rather noisy. We were there on a Saturday night and the room backed up to where they were playing live music and it didn't stop till 2 AM. On Sunday night it was relatively quiet. Keep that in mind as you plan a trip to this area.

The issues with the music mentioned in previous comments were not an issue. I was in a back room and could not hear at all. I visited on Florence First Friday and Down town was bustling. My friend and I had a ball. The a/c was off so it was hot when we arrived but that's not a big deal. Its cool. The Shower and tub were so awesome. For a couple night get away. I highly recommend.. My lady was super impressed. The check in was cool no front desk clamoring just walked straight in and went to my room. A+

We stayed for our wedding anniversary last night, and were on the 3rd floor in a Deluxe King room. The beds were very comfortable!! We did not get to sleep until around 3:30 AM because of the bar next door. We heard every car, every conversation that went on . I would recommend this place to stay, because the location is great and the beds were so comfortable. BUT, I would not pay they extra money for the Deluxe room! They will be on the front of the hotel and you will hear everything! Get a room with few windows or no windows. It wasn't worth the high price for the view of Court Street. All together

This is a very nice hotel. It is clean with prompt service to any request. The rooms were very nice. We did not hear the band play downstairs. We were able to get a good night's rest. It is within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. The shower accommodations were great with a waterfall shower head and the travel soap, lotion, and shampoo smelled amazing. It was made specifically for thier hotel and can be purchased in the large size at the shop at reclaimed spirit. Yes I got some too bring home. They were even sweet enough to give me a second round of the travel size because I fell

The cutest boutique hotel with exposed pipes, brick walls, and beautifully redone interior. Boiler Room (bowling/arcade/bar) in the basement level and Big Bad Breakfast right downstairs (for after checkout!), and so many eating options and bars within two blocks. Staff was friendly and the Mobile check-in/keys were very convenient. Will be staying again if we come back through town!
Note: no designated parking and you can hear everything, not a con for me (it's in a downtown area and an older building, so to be expected) just worth noting.

Where do I begin! The young lady who checked us in was very friendly, check-in was a breeze, the room was smaller than expected but the decor was awesome.
Pros: The hotel is located in what we consider a downtown area. Lots of choices for drinks, food and we enjoyed a nice walk. The hotel has a bowling alley, a bar and live music and it's also connected to a restaurant. The decor in the hotel was beautiful, the room was setup very tastefully, the lights above the bed were very pretty and that touch of gold was awesome!
Cons: The only complaint I have is the room was a lot smaller

This is a good little hotel if you like historical places. Definitely nice and well done. Our room was street side, so it was very noisy, as you can hear all of the people outside as well as cars, horns, talking, etc. We enjoyed our stay, but room darkening curtains would be nice. The Boiler Room in the basement was a blast and Big Bad Breakfast offered up an awesome first meal. Great addition to downtown Florence.

Love, and I mean LOVE, the design, concept, feel.....it's all awesome! Need blackout curtains if you are facing the street, way too much light comes in from street and hard to sleep. Hotel is very loud, so bring a noise maker or use their clock which has white noise on it, and they provide ear plugs. Not ideal, but it's a really cool spot and worth it.

This hotel has some potential. However there are some areas for improvement such as parking and shower. The area is a little iffy at night and i was kind of worried about my car. You have to either find street parking or park in a gravel lot around the corner that has pot holes that could potentially break an axel! Anywho the hotel itself it cute and updated. The shower is so fancy I could not figure out how to turn on the shower and there was no one at the front desk to tell me how ... I had to do a splash bath... the hotel has a loud bar in the basement so you need to get a 3rd level room to

We came from Birmingham for New Years for a spur of the moment trip with our 8 year old. The hotel was absolutely charming! I personally loved the interior design throughout the hotel from the plumbing to the paint colors, paintings, lighting.. The staff was very accommodating, they even brought us a complimentary bottle of champagne and party hats. It was great too because it poured rain and we were able to hang out at the bowling alley and walk to all the restaurants. Overall, a great weekend getaway and would come back.

We really wanted to love this place. We had heard great things about it. Unfortunately, we cannot give the Strickland hotel a good review. Not only was our reservation messed up; they did not have our first night booked into the correct room and we had to stay in a smaller room, but when they put us in the correct room for the second night they put us in a room directly over a bar called the "Flobama". We knew when we checked in and we saw ear plugs made available in our room that that was a bad sign but we had no idea just how loud it was going to be! Needless to say we did not sleep

This is a gem of a hotel right in the heart of downtown Florence. I'm so glad I opted to stay here this past weekend for homecoming. I love how they've honored the historic building by keeping some of the exposed brick and fixtures, but also modernized it. The rooms are really nice - well-furnished & well-decorated, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was incredibly friendly. This is a versatile hotel - I'd stay here for a romantic long weekend, a girls' trip, or even a family getaway to check out the lions at UNA.

My husband and I stayed at The Stricklin last weekend! We really enjoyed our stay. The room was so cozy. We loved the combination of the historical details and the modern furnishings. The bed was very comfortable. On the night of our stay we walked to Ricatoni's for dinner and then came back and went down to the Boiler Room located in the basement of the Hotel. We had a great time playing darts! We would have bowled on one of the vintage bowling lanes but I didn't pack any socks. Upon checkout we ate breakfast at the BBB located in the hotel and it was amazing! We used to stay at the
