With over 2,000,000 Americans diagnosed with skin cancer each year, it's a serious problem. The good news is if skin cancer is detected early, it's highly curable. The biggest cause, of course, is chronic over exposure to the sun. The most common types of skin cancer are basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma.

If you are out in the sun for any length of time each day, you need to be wary of over exposure. If you notice a skin growth such as a mole or wart that has changed, becomes irregular in shape, size, color, or suddenly starts growing or bleeding, make an appointment with us right away.
Here at Valley Dermatology, Dr. Knoell sees people from infants to senior citizens with eczema, or atopic dermatitis. Although infants, toddlers, and school age children are our most frequent patients. With over 17 years of practice experience here in the Shenandoah Valley, Dr. Knoell has the skills and expertise to diagnose and treat your eczema.

He’s rated #1 for a reason! I would give him 6 stars if I could. Very kind and knowledgeable. The staff is pleasant and the colors they wear are cute. Caramel (sorry if I spelled her name wrong!!) is awesome. They can run labs in their office so you don’t have to worry about getting it done somewhere else. Dr K is the third dermatologist that I’ve had and he’s amazing. You’re in good hands if you come here!!

I have seen Dr. Knoell for ~20 years now and started seeing him when he was at a different practice. He is a fantastic doctor and I was happy to transfer to his current practice. He is friendly, knowledgeable and treats patients like people, not a time slot like a lot of other doctors do. Office staff is wonderful and very helpful. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Knoell and his staff.
