Dr. Ryan Porterfield has one motto: To recommend the best, give the best, and expect the best for each and every patient. He feels a responsibility to help people of all ages get to a stable and properly functioning spine so they can they live a life of wellness. A properly functioning spine has the ability to fix many of the ailments that can tend to plague everyone at some point or another.
Chiropractic is based on the scientific fact that your body is a self-regulating, self-healing organism controlled by the brain, spinal cord and nerves of the body. The nervous system is protected by the spinal vertebrae. When these vertebrae become misaligned or lose normal motion, malfunction of the tissues and organs throughout the body result.
The main causes of joint dysfunction are mechanical, chemical, and emotional. Mechanical causes are referred to as micro- or macrotrauma. Microtrauma can also be called repetitive stress injury. Sitting with poor posture at a desk and typing all day can cause problems such as carpal tunnel, neck, upper back, or low back pain.
First your spine loses its normal balance. There may be a loss of normal spinal curves. Your nerves may be affected and the vital life energy that flows over them is interfered with. Also your joints, discs, nerves and posture are stressed and age more quickly. Surprisingly, there may be no pain other than occasional minor discomfort.
Subluxation is a term used in the chiropractic field to describe what happens when one of the vertebrae in your spine moves out of position. The word subluxation is derived from the Latin words meaning somewhat or slightly (sub) and to dislocate (luxate). When this happens, the misaligned vertebrae creates pressure and stress on the spinal nerves, blood vessels, and surrounding muscles.

I was a patient here and then I worked here. 4 staff members (including me) walked out in 1 day if that tells you anything. He is very money hungry and does not care about patients anymore. Porterfield is a completely different guy than he was when I saw him as a patient. Watch out for the red head Rachele too. She is all about making the money for her boss that she bows down to, even if it means deceiving people in the process. If you see him for a “niche” like shoulder or knee, they will make you think that your insurance will pay for it, but it’s ALL OUT OF POCKET. He’s a robot who answers

A few months ago I sat on my living room floor completely stuck, physically not able to get up off of the floor due to my sciatic flaring up worse than it ever had. Crying in agony my five year old called my husband for help. His words “ Stop being a baby and go see a chiropractor!!” Followed by a loving I’m leaving work to come take care of you and the kids. I was terrified of chiropractors. The thought of letting someone adjust my neck gave me so much anxiety but I knew as I sat there unable to move and incapable of taking care of my kids, I had to do something. I read all of the reviews

I started seeing Dr. Porterfield during my second trimester of pregnancy. He helped me feel comfortable throughout my entire pregnancy - I didn’t have any of the back pains or “common” discomforts that I had while pregnant with my first. Honestly, it was a night & day difference. My labor was only 5 hours which I definitely attribute it to being properly aligned. Dr. Porterfield is not only an awesome chiropractor but also a great teacher who keeps you informed every step of the way. By far this was the best decision I made in terms of prenatal care.

I've been seeing Dr. Porterfield since May 2019 and it has honestly changed my life. Before, my neck and upper back constantly ached. I felt good after the first adjustment, but even better as time went on. You have to follow the steps to maintain the work, but it's not difficult at all. I feel better than I have in years and that's all thanks to Dr. Porterfield.

If you are looking for a professional establishment that treats and cares for you like family, Porterfield Family Chiropractic is the answer. Dr. Porterfield is personable and an absolute pro at what he does. His staff that I have interacted with especially Rachele and Melissa, are phenomenal. I need to give them a shout out with scheduling and making Porterfield Family Chiropractic a great place to go for treatment. From the bottom of my heart (and entire back) thank you.
