Austin's Sewing Center
As most of us know, the current world conditions are effecting every aspect of life. There are shortages of building supplies, computer chips, and just these two things make a huge impact on our way of life. In order to help you with your sewing needs through the end of this year we would like to make our customers aware of two important things.

From now until after the first of the year there will be a limited supply of machines, especially certain models. We have been working hard to assure that we will have enough machines to get us through this time but there will be challenges. If you know you are interested in a specific machine, please let us know ASAP so that we may be able to get what you need before the price increase.
Services
Teresa Packer purchased the store in October of 2008 and is happy to continue Austin's 56-year tradition of quality sewing machine sales and service. We are your one-stop, gotta-shop sewing machine center. We are located in the heart of Fern Creek at 5640 Bardstown Road, just south of S. Hurstbourne Lane and just 1.6 miles north of I-265, right behind McDonalds.
Whether you're just starting out as a beginner or you've got years of experience, you'll find a sewing machine to suit your needs at Austin's Sewing Center! If you purchase a machine from us, you have a whole year to trade up and get your full value. Financing is available for your convenience and we will price match if you bring us a written estimate!
With the proper maintenance, your sewing machine should last you for years to come. From time to time, your machine will need regular cleanings and adjustments to ensure it's working at its optimal performance. Lint from fabrics, batting, threads, and other items can clog the machine and cause damage over time.
Skill Details: Learning to measure and cut panels effectively to compliment the subject, creating shadowed window panes and handling a main border to frame the quilt. Pumpkin pieces are created in your embroidery hoop and buttoned together to make super cute and fancy Jack-o-lanterns. In this class you will create free-standing lace and lace with applique while creating the OESA sleigh and reindeer.

Great friendly staff. Love the sewing classes and the teacher is incredible. Bought my machine there and my sales person is always helpful with questions. The owner of the shop and her staffs priority is truly their customers and students. They make you feel like your part of a family. I love this place.

Such a great selection of notions, fabric and machines. Plus, the folks working here were very helpful and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back. Also very glad to know that they do machine repairs and are a certified Juki repair place!

Salesperson hovered over my mother and I after I mentioned I was in the market for an embroidery machine. Talked down to me, felt the need to read the cards for me rather than letting me shop. We’re in the middle of a pandemic, and it’s already a cramped space, the last thing I need is someone reading for me.
I also brought in a basic Husqvarna that needed repairs, and the technician at the repair counter is the ONLY reason why this review has more than one star. He was honest and helpful, but it ultimately couldn’t be fixed. I appreciated that he let me know upfront it would be more expensive

If you enjoy being talked down to then this is your place to go. They have treated us bad each of the 3 times we have went in causing us to take our business elsewhere. This last time we went in to ask about an industrial sewing machine saying that no one can get these but yet we had already known where else we could get these machines. Very rude business that we will not ever frequent again.

I went into see if they could put a ruffler foot on my sewing machine for me and they were so kind and helped me put it on the right way. She took the time to retread it and put bobbin in and showed me the right settings to put it on. I was so happy to get it working. It was a good experience and I even learned a thing or two. I would recommend Austin's Sewing Center to anyone.

They were very helpful with our purchase. They sold us a sewing machine based on our actual needs instead of price. The nice lady who helped us also helped my mom get into the car when she was having trouble. Excellent customer service!

They have an EXCELLENT staff, fabric selection, threads, sewing machines, patterns, etc. The ladies are incredibly helpful, and they're very patient.
When I came in for the first time, I didnt really know what I was doing with my sewing machine, and they were incredibly patient and taught me the basics even though I didn't buy it there. They service and sell sewing machines of ALL DIFFERENT SORTS! It is crazy. I didnt even know that there were that many different machines with sew many uses.
Their fabric is top quality, and they have classes and tons of patterns.
