Services
We are owned and operated locally, serving Baton Rouge and surrounding parishes. We are committed to meeting our customers' expectations with honest, professional and prompt service. Your fireplace, chimney, and clothes dryer are among the most-overlooked causes of fire and carbon monoxide poisoning in your home.
There are three basic types of chimney appliances in Louisiana; masonry fireplaces, prefabricated fireplaces and wood stoves. Maintenance is recommended for all of these types of appliances, some on an annual basis. Chimney Inspections - Inspecting the inside and outside of your appliance according to the 3 levels according to the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) code 211.
What most people picture when you ask them about chimney sweeping is either a young lad covered from head to toe in soot or a tall skinny guy a.k.l. Dick Van Dike in "Mary Poppins", again covered from head to toe in soot. This was a very accurate picture up through the centuries. However, in the last few decades cleaning a chimney has become a much more high tech industry than most people realize.
Why should you bother having your chimney inspected? The following statistics from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) for 2010 is a good place to start. U.S. fire departments responded to an estimated 1,331,500 fires. There was a civilian fire death every 169 minutes and a civilian fire injury every 30 minutes in 2010.
There are a lot of things to consider when we talk about chimney repairs. In fact, you might need to repair the crown, the caps, the firebox, the flue, the flashing around the base of the chimney where it intersects with the roof or the brick and mortar. This is why it's important to have a chimney inspection done to identify exactly what is causing the particular issue.

Ronnie was punctual, kind and respectful. I have never used the fireplace and was pretty ignorant. He cleaned and inspected the fireplace and chimney, gave me excellent advice about using and maintaining my gas fireplace, and made sure I was completely comfortable lighting the gas. He was careful to leave no trace of soot on the hearth or floor. I was very satisfied with his work, and highly recommend Basic.

Wow, great service. We set up an appointment to get the Chimney cleaned. He arrive a little early, set up his equipment, cleaned the stack and was out of the house in around an hour. He left everything spotless and ready to use. He was very reasonable on price. I would recommend this company for any of your fireplace needs. This was our first time to use this company, but will not be the last.
