I began to miss out on some conversations and what was said in meetings at work. My concern was I would miss an important point or aspect of my job. I visited three hearing businesses, and Cornerstone had the best mix of 'friendly and professional.' One place made me feel like it was more about 'selling me something.'
Hear Lubbock began as Dr. Julie Hubik began to see a need in this area to provide assistance for those with hearing loss who cannot afford hearing instruments. Our organization accepts donations of used hearing instruments at any time. We also apply trade-in credit to individuals upgrading to more advanced/current hearing aid technology.
With the most recent health reports suggesting that 1 in 8 Americans have some form of hearing loss, yet additional studies suggest that only a small percentage of these people will ever have their hearing tested, we have a duty of care to educate and help patients take action.
The biggest challenge that we face is that the average patient waits more than seven years before having their hearing tested upon experiencing their first sign of hearing loss.During this time, hearing loss often worsens and can affect the patient's overall health and wellness. Also, hearing loss is much easier to treat when it is diagnosed at an early stage.

One of the biggest challenges for our team is that we're trying to help people to make a decision that they don't want to make. We all regularly have our teeth cleaned by our dentist, our blood pressure tested by our physician, and our eyes tested by our optometrist - but rarely do any of us have our hearing tested. One of our biggest frustrations as audiologists is that we often spend far too much of our time easing patients into better hearing because their auditory system has been deprived of sound for so many years.

Cornerstone Audiology is wonderful. The staff is friendly and the service is always quick and efficient in the service center.
We got our hearing aids checked, cleaned, new filters and batteries. We were in and out in 15 minutes.
The doctors are friendly and knowledgeable too. Best audiology office we have found!

In Lubbock staying with my daughter and my ear got plugged with wax and Cornerstone worked me in and cleaned my ear better than it had ever been cleaned. And everyone seemed to go above and beyond to take care of me. Great experience and I can’t find the right words to truly express my thanks to them. My husband, Gene Williamson, just had his ears checked that he needed hearing aids. He wouldn’t buy them because I am on chemo for a malignant tumor. He wants to be able to pay for my treatment instead of helping himself. I nominate him to get the free aids you are giving away. For 64 years he had always put his family first. Cornerstone is a private practice and does not represent any one hearing aid company. This is great because they can select just the right aids for your unique needs. I am very pleased with their friendliness, professionalism and efficiency. The audiologist I met with was competent and capable.
