My wife and I spent the weekend here in our Class C motorhome and we will definitely go back. The folks that worked there were very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool area was clean and relaxing. The RV sites were wooded, giving plenty of shade. If I had one, my only complaint would be that the bathhouse and restrooms were very, very dated; but they were clean and functional.

Let me start with the positives. The pool was gorgeous! It was big, clean, crystal clear. The staff was extremely friendly, and the camp store was sufficient. The site was level, but it's sand, dirt, and pine needless. The bathrooms were horrible! They were dingy with very little light. No mirrors over the sinks. The water was hot, but the water pressure was so strong, it hurt. It was also a haven for bees. Crossing this one off our list.

Me and my little man (4 years old) came to Ed Allen's for the first time last weekend for About Time Music Festival and had an amazing time! It was so kid-friendly and safe and every last detail was a delight. A free potluck dinner in the evening. Dancing all night in the campground pavilion, bedecked in glow sticks. Making so many new friends. Midnight golf cart rides. A picturesque breakfast on the lake. Swimming in the pool all day with the music in view. Ice cream sandwiches melting all over our hands. The few stars glittering out from behind the trees above our tent as we fell asleep. Waking

The people are absolutely great. But….the cabins smell musty, FULL of centipedes, roaches, mosquitoes and possible bed bugs. (We couldnt recognize the ones on the beds.) We headed home to go to sleep. Other then the cabins being absolutely horrid, the grounds are very well kept and there are plenty of amenities. I don’t blame them on the bugs due to it being in the country but it’s their job to eradicate the pests. That is all.

We just spent the weekend at Ed Allen’s in the Red Oak cabin and it was amazing! I heard that it was recently renovated so the cabin itself was perfect for a family of five. The view was right on the lake and beautiful. We watched the bats at night going after the bugs and the kids caught tad poles and little fish with a small net and a bucket and put them back. We rented a golf cart, kayak and boat and had a wonderful time! There was a picnic table on the deck and a fireplace and fire pit right next to the cabin. We took the golf cart to the stocked pond and tried to catch a big bass but we’re

Beautiful place! We had our first stay here tent camping this past weekend and really enjoyed it! We definitely will return! Although the one women's bath house was out of service pretty much the whole trip, we just had to take a quick trip to the other bath house which was a little inconvenient but not a deterrent!

I can't believe it's been nearly 5 years since "I fished the chick"!
As I often talk about my 2 year RV Adventure, Ed Allen's Campground is one of the two places I always talk about - Maine being the other.
Looking back just reminds me how much I enjoyed myself and how I long to return to the open road.

A nice and friendly campground. A very relaxed and courteous experience every time we go. Generally quiet with few issues and prices seem fair.
Only complaint is improve the bathrooms please, Many are out of service or not enough available to handle the amount of people.
My Top priority Bathroom facilities Improvements i would give 5 stars.

Arrived July 3rd evening just as fireworks were underway. Gate attendant was friendly and had a great personality. Observed him handle a rude gate-crasher with southern charm. This is a beautifully wooded camp area. This also, due to excessive rain I am sure, made the campground rather muddy. Understanding the challenge of having a natural setting, it may be time to add gravel at some sites. Swimming pool was uniquely fish-shaped and well kept. New pool schedule for next year? Location was 20 minutes to Colonial Williamsburg, 40 to Jamestown site. Local shopping 15 minutes.

Had a great 3 day weekend here at Ed Allen's. was nice and quiet and couldn't have asked for friendlier folks. If your into rustic camping this is the place to be. Trees all over the place and has a nice natural feel to it. Great fishing spot.Has a full bait and tackle shop and boat launch down the road. Also has rentals if you don't have your own. Full hookup for the trailers to boot! If your into super sites, this isn't a good place for you. The sites were gravel covered though and had a good amount of room to them Not alot to do for the kids unless your out on the water
