Jimmie Sue, owner and administrator, opened the the Duncan McRae House in 1999. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from Valdosta State University and a Master of Science in Exercise Science and Kinesiology. She is a Certified Athletic Trainer and Exercise Physiologist. She has also worked as a clinical athletic trainer serving both high schools and colleges.
While working in a physical therapy clinic in the mid 1990's, she felt the call to open a personal care home and pursued the career change after the birth of her son in 1998. Both of her children have helped at the Duncan McRae House since they were toddlers. She is married to Edwin Bland, who is an Assistant Administrator at West Laurens Middle School and also the Head Wrestling Coach for West Laurens High School.
