Lucciola Academy is driven by the idea that the educators, the families, and the environment each play a role in guiding the children as they unravel their discoveries. Our inspiration came from Loris Malaguzzi's Reggio Emilia approach where children are viewed as resilient and competent individuals.

At Lucciola Academy, learning starts in infancy. We believe in Magda Gerber's RIE approach in emphasizing respect and trust in an infant's ability to invent, explore, and learn.

Services
We want you to know that you have the power to create your stories and lead your investigations. We encourage you to collaborate with others to discover new interests and build ideas. Open-ended materials allow children to be creative and to express themselves in different ways. These materials help widen imagination and enable endless possibilities during play.
The children discovering slugs sparked their curiosity in nature. They screamed, picked up the slugs, asked questions that helped deepen their understanding of slugs. Recognizing and sharing each other's family traditions and cultures is an integral part of our philosophy. We believe that exposing and letting children experience these moments will cultivate their cultural awareness.

We sent our child to Lucciola Academy for 1.5 years between the ages of 1 - 2.5. Our son flourished under the guidance of the caring teachers and an environment that fosters creativity and exploration. Our son learned to walk, speak, and interact with kids of all ages during this time. We really appreciated the individual care the teachers gave which helped to build our son's confidence. When our son wasn't in school, he would constantly be referring back to it. We knew he loved it by the excitement he would show every morning as we headed to the school. The school and the teachers

Thru my 3 years of experience with Miss Ammy, I have never seen a teacher care so much for their students. She treats them as if they are family while teaching the kids what they need to thrive thru play and socialization. Even after graduating from her class, we still keep in touch with her because our kids still love and talk about her. Our kids still apply what they've learned from Miss Ammy today. Highly recommended!
