The story of Bart's Deli begins a lot like a country song - in 1977, high school friends ventured out West together with little more than a tank of gas after graduating college. The decision to call Durango their home was solidified when their tank ran out of gas. Almost 40 years later, they remain friends and both have burgeoning businesses in Durango.

Best deli around! Every time I have eaten here itās been high quality, fresh, and killer service. I have tried the burritos, burgers, and breakfast sammies, none have disappointed. They even have bacon treats for four legged family members. Skip the chain restaurants if you want quality like this š½ š½

This isn't a detailed review, as I only had one item. It's located in the back of a C-store where I stopped for fuel. It was about lunch time and this seemed a good alternative to the McD's down the way. I was very pleasantly surprised. I ordered a hamburger with all the fixin's. It was memorable: The patty was nicely thick but not too. Plenty of fresh lettuce, tomato, pickles and the mustard and mayo I requested. Thoroughly satisfying. A very pleasant surprise. I'd recommend anyone passing by to stop in. There were many other items on the menu. Give it a try

I've been going to Bart's for a while now and had a horrible experience at the drive-thru. They have the prices listed on the drive-thru board. Ordered a special and went to the drive-thru window and the prices were way higher than what they should be. Ask the manager there what's going on and he says that they have not adjusted the prices because it cost too much money. how many people are getting swindled by this place and almost seems like a bait and switch or misrepresentation of prices. I'll a suggest anybody not to go there.

One burger joint to rule them all, and this is it. Seriously. Burgers, sandwiches, dogs, fries. I try something new every time, and love it all. People ask me the best place to eat in Durango, and ALWAYS send them to Bart's. If I had to choose one item, it would be the In and Out burger with mushrooms.

Yummmm.... greeted by a gruff looking guy, but was sweet as ever. He was quick at taking orders as this place was hopping with customers. We had a green chile cheese burger and a turkey sandwich. The burger dripped with juices of grease and cheese and green chile... delicious! The turkey sandwich was so big I couldn't even wrap my mouth around it, it was packed with meat, lettuce, tomato, cheese and mayo. Nothing wrong with this place, they know what they are doing!

I've lived in Durango since 2011 but this is my first time at Bart's. I'm from the East Coast and have lived in Jersey and NY so I'm skeptical of most delis outside the Northeast. The hot pastrami sandwich hit the spot. Next time I might ask for a little more spicy mustard but otherwise it was delicious. The pickle on the side was a nice accompaniment.
I used the drive through and was very pleased that the gentleman who took my order, (whom I assume may have been Bart), took the time to patiently answer my questions about the corned beef and pastrami. I won't hesitate

Stopped by to have oil changed early one morning. Thought a breakfast burrito would be nice. I've heard good things about Bart's in the past, but they totally forgot to make my order. Oil changed and tires rotated long (30 mins) before any recognition I was still standing In line for a burrito. I asked and got my money back with a relatively friendly 'ok'. Staff seemed to be a bit flummoxed trying to get 4 orders complete in the time I was waiting. Guess I can't really review the food, but after this experience I wouldn't bother trying again...

Inside the convenience store portion of a gas station seems an unlikely location for a deli. However, this place is spot on. Quick service, solid food, and a drive through option for people on the go. Great breakfast burrito and sandwich options makes this a one spot stop for a quick breakfast and a lunch to go.

I visit Bart rather frequently. His morning crew is top notch, the breakfast burritos are fantastic, and my go-to breakfast is a custom grilled sandwich with egg, two cheeses, bacon, sausage, jalapeƱos ( or green chiles), on sourdough. This freaking sandwich enters my dreams. If you tell the morning crew that you want to try Tyler's sandwich, they will know exactly what you mean. Thanks Bart, Megan, and Joe!

Fresh cut boar's head meats, and they don't skimp on the sandwiches. Our group had the Reuben, BLT, turkey special, grilled cheese and pastrami. All were excellent. Crinkle cut fries accompanied the sandwiches.
Bart greeted us and Rachel was very helpful with our barrage of questions and recommendation requests.

WOW! They made a custom made to order sandwich for me. Bart called it the "monster", three meats piled enough for three sandwiches plus! My Italian ancestors would be proud! Just needed a little vinegar and oil and I would have swore I was in downtime NY!
