Consensus Planning was established in March of 1991 by its founders, Jim Strozier and Karen Marcotte. We approach every planning project with the understanding that all projects require a unique solution. First and foremost, we strive for consensus. People's opinions matter and, when it comes to planning a project, opinions can either strengthen or dismantle a project. That is why we take a full, hands-on approach by soliciting input in the planning process through interactive meetings with all of the project stakeholders.
Urban design involves a multi-disciplinary approach engaging planning, landscape architecture, architecture, and engineering professionals in a design framework that gives shape and creates character to streets, neighborhoods, and sites. Our team is skilled at bringing out the best of each discipline in order to provide the client with an urban design that is creative, contextual, and buildable.
We work on outdoor environments to create landscapes that meet the physical, social, and emotional needs of the community, while balancing issues of environmental sustainability and resiliency. In order to create these lasting and meaningful designs, we coordinate with user groups, the client/user agency, and the contractors to ensure that the vision is buildable and maintainable over time.
Founded in 1991, Consensus Planning provides planning, landscape architectural, and urban design services throughout New Mexico and the region. Our office is located in Downtown Albuquerque. We utilize a collaborative approach that builds upon our reputation and commitment to our profession and the community while adding value to our clients' projects.
