Services
Passage of health care reform was only the first step in modernizing our health care system. Thousands of our neighbors, especially those in our most vulnerable rural communities, will now be able to access vital health care services and improve their lives. It's time for all of us to turn the promise of these reforms into reality.
The Bureau of Primary Health Care depends on primary care associations in each state to provide comprehensive training and technical assistance to thousands of health centers across the country.

Mindful of this responsibility, the Hawai'i Primary Care Association endeavors to provide a wide array of programs and development opportunities that meet the health system improvement expectations by the Bureau, while also being responsive to the operational needs of Hawai'i's network of Community Health Centers.
Community Health Centers (CHCs) are the cornerstone of the health care system in Hawaii, providing essential services to our most vulnerable populations. CHCs are non-profit organizations, and exist in federally-recognized areas where residents have barriers to getting health care. They also actively reinvest in the development of the communities they operate in.
Community Health Centers provide comprehensive and coordinated services that put the patient and her family at the center of the care process. A personal physician and a health care team works together with the patient and family to reduce barriers and improve health outcomes. In this way, Community Health Centers approach health care from a more holistic perspective that promotes prevention, wellness, and care coordination.
