For over a century, J.R. Hoe has produced innovative, high quality cast iron and fabricated metal products as a foundry and steel fabrication facility in Middlesboro, Kentucky. In 1909, J.R. Hoe migrated with his family from Pittsburgh to the mountain region of Kentucky to take over operations of Pioneer Iron Works.
Manhole covers are made of cast iron. These covers need to be heavy so that when vehicles drive over them, they do not become dislodged. Manhole covers normally weigh 100+ pounds each. Some have open pick holes which allow water to enter the manhole. Others have concealed pick holes which do not go all the way through the cover or lift handles such as drop handles or ring handles.
Durable, functional and architecturally appealing, EJ tree grates are a necessity for healthy trees in various settings from urban environments, campus, parks, to indoor malls. Tree grates provide more area for pedestrian activity while protecting developing trees and root systems. The slotted design allows for watering and drainage in addition to being ADA compliant for pedestrian safety.
Please visit our website trashracks.com to view product drawings, technical information and request a quote. A Trash Rack is a fabricated steel component designed to block floating debris from entering storm water and wastewater systems. Often featured on precast concrete outlet structures in storm water retention and detention ponds, trash racks play an essential role in water management systems.
When it rains, storm water runs off roadways, driveways, and construction sites into grates which carry the storm water to rivers, streams, lakes and other waterways. Unlike sewage, storm water is not treated so as it flows into grates it carries with it sediment, trash, oils, chemicals and other elements that are harmful to our water resources.
