Born and raised in Naples, Tommy started working summers for his grandfather before he could even drive. Although his first job was sweeping up, he observed everything that happened on the jobsite and soon learned other parts of the trade, and worked his way up in the company. After graduating from the University of Florida's Construction Management program in 2005, Tommy returned as a full time Project Manager.
Tommy has worked on a wide variety of projects and enjoys the design-build projects where you truly see the project thru from concept to completion. In 2013, Tommy officially purchased the company from his father and business partner, and is now the sole owner and President of Houchin Construction, Inc. Tommy and his wife have two children, and he enjoys fishing and the Florida weather when he is not at work.

Over the years and generations, we have built countless structures and relationships in the community, all of which stand on our core foundation of integrity. Under the guidance of 4th generation owner Tommy Houchin, our Project Delivery System has been fine-tuned and is the blueprint for how we run each and every job, from start to finish.
This internal process includes various procedures, cost-controls, and schedule-controls. Our Project Delivery System brings balance to the project, and ensures each project receives the same commitment and attention to detail it deserves. Although by name we are "contractors" or "builders", at Houchin Construction we understand that our true role in your project is as Managers.
Our focus has never been on a specific project type, instead our portfolio is driven by our clients, and we grow with them, working together on new ideas and projects. As the Design-Build Contractor, Houchin Construction provided a turnkey solution for Hansen Electric's new facility.
Our in-house Architect coordinated the design with various engineers, consultants, as well as County staff to ensure all of the owner's requirements were met while keeping in line with building codes and local requirements.The 19,000 SF tilt-wall building houses a showroom, offices, and warehouse/storage.
