Dr. Coyle, a colon and rectal specialist, and Dr. Merck, a general surgeon, decided that joining their efforts would be beneficial to both. As partners, they could provide coverage for one another and utilize their skills as surgeons by assisting each other when necessary.
Although Dr. Merck is now deceased, it was their vision to have a facility where cost-effective colonoscopy and ano-rectal surgery could be performed as an office-based procedure in a safe environment. Now over 3000 procedures are performed yearly and most insurance carriers realize the cost effectiveness and safety that accredited office-based surgical facilities can offer.

Transrectal ultrasound, Transrectal ultrasonography, or TRUS for short, is a procedure that helps create an image of the rectum, its wall, and the surrounding tissues. Much like with pregnant women, the images in ultrasound are produced through soundwaves which can travel through body tissue to create an accurate image of human tissue in question.

Tried several times with this clinic couldnât even get people at the front desk to pick up took a âmonth and a halfâ for a âschedulerâ to not call me and for me to reach the front desk. The staff is horrible and pass the buck a heck of a lot amongst themselves and the front desk will not make an effort to fix it nor will the practice manager correct or acknowledge the issues. So if you need a serious practice Iâd look else were you wonât even get on the schedule and personally I wouldnât want anyone poking my insides that worked at a place that doesnât even function on basic communication

Had a fantastic experience with Dr. Rosser at the Alabama Colon & Rectal Institute!! Second visit in 10 years!! Dr. Rosser and all of his staff are very attentive to their patients. The prep protocol the institute uses is easy to follow and also does not require as much fluid intake as other facilities do. My husband has used Dr. Beckham at the Institute several times with the same wonderful outcome. I have referred Dr. Rosser myself to several friends - all of them went to Dr. Rosser, and they will never go to another doctor other than Dr. Rosser for their future colonoscopies. ALL had a GREAT

The receptionists, nurses, nurse anesthetists, and physicians truly make you feel comfortable and at ease ; they donât mind questions either (which is rare these days ) . A special shout out to Shea (nurse anesthetist) and Dr. Rosser .
I hate I canât remember the name of the nurse that started the IV and the male nurse anesthetist who explained the anesthesiaâŚ..they all did a wonderful job !

This is absolutely the best place to go!!! I was here years ago for a procedure and my mom is here now for a regular colonoscopy. Dr. Rosser is the absolute best and the staff here is 2nd to none. This group makes you comfortable in an uncomfortable situation . I highly recommend this group for all colon and rectal needs.
