If you have been denied Social Security Disability benefits, it can feel like you have no where to turn. The fact is, people who are deserving of SSDI or SSI benefits are denied every day. To ensure that your case is being reviewed fairly, work with an experienced SSDI lawyer to get the benefits you are entitled to.
You have not worked earning more than $1000* a month for at least 12 months or longer OR it is likely you will be unable to earn more than $800 a month for 12 months or longer. The reason you are unable to work more is because you have one or more physical or mental conditions with symptoms that severely affect your ability to work.
Title 2 Social Security Disability Income Benefits ("SSDIB") is for disabled individuals who have paid into Social Security while they worked. If you have worked AND paid Social Security in five of the previous ten years before you became disabled, you are likely eligible for Title 2 SSDIB and Medicare.
Contact Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 or go to www.ssa.gov or visit your local Social Security Office. Apply for both Title 2 SSDIB and Title 16 SSI. If they say you are not entitled to one or both, make them put it in writing. Most importantly, treat with your doctors or begin treating with doctors immediately, for BOTH your medical AND mental impairments.
