The Sign Shop was established in 1983 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania by David Geise. We started as a small custom sign shop, and today remain a small shop producing high quality hand crafted signs. In the beginning, all lettering was hand-painted. Although we still hand paint many signs, most of the work involves computer aided design and production.
We take great pride in every sign produced. Our specialty is hand-carved signs, a time-honored tradition still admired in our modern world. We also offer a complete line of sign services. Whether it's a permanent sign, temporary banner or on-site free standing signs, we can produce a sign to fit your needs and budget.

Services
Paint is brushed on by hand which creates a simulated wood grain. Both sides are coated with four primer coats and two final coats, and finally, an automotive clear coat is applied for added protection. In most signs, the lettering is finished with gold leaf. Gold leaf has been used for signs, picture frames, and many other decorative elements for centuries.
Our hand carved residential signs are produced through the same process as the commercial signs. We have our commonly used designs located in the see pricing tab. Those signs can be modified regarding color and size. All other designs are produced and quoted at no charge. You pay nothing unless you order the sign.

The Sign Shop did a wonderful job with our signage design and installation. Dave is incredibly talented -- he has a great eye for colors, design/layout, and placement -- and knowledgable about city code requirements and installation considerations. I highly recommend working with Dave at The Sign Shop. He's a professional though and through.
