The Gainesville Ballet is honored to have the following guest artist share the stage with Company One to provide you an exquisite ballet experience. Originally from Demorest, GA., has been dancing since the age of three and studied with the Gainesville School of Ballet for nine years under the direction of Diane Callahan.
Join us in our 50th year! Founded in 1969 by Diane Callahan, what began as one professional dancer who loves to teach supplementing her income, rapidly grew into a school of the first order, and for Miss Diane, a life-long commitment to share her passion for dance with children. The school is committed to offering a variety of dance classes taught by highly qualified, nurturing instructors.
What joy! Two and three year-olds spend an hour bonding with a parent, or other significant adult, together exploring the fun and magic of dance. Sessions held throughout the year. The early childhood program promotes the love of dance through the joy of movement combined with music. Simple dance concepts are taught beginning with the identification of body parts, coordination skills, and movement patterns.
The annual staple of a dance school, the recital, conjures images of childhood and Americana for many. It's a rite of passage for thousands of youngsters, a chance to shine in front of family and friends that is anticipated with nervous excitement. The recital offers our students a professionally directed performance that allows them to present to their families and friends the results of a year's hard work, dedication, and progress.
A leotard, tights and tennis shoes. Students may wear jazz pants, shorts or sweats instead of tights; however, a leotard base must be worn. The best place to buy dancewear is at a dancewear store. Many area dance apparel stores offer discounts when you mention the Gainesville School of Ballet/Gainesville Ballet Company.

My child has dance there for 10 years so far and has always felt the love and support of the teachers and other dancers. They are taught good technique and have high quality shows and costumes as well as a wide variety of types of dance. Highly suggest if you are looking for a caring nurturing company.

Awful! The mommy and me class was lead by a very insensitive person who should not be around children!! She had one child crying for 20 mins. Yelling at my child because she would not sachet accross the floor!!! She is two!!! It is her first class!! We had been there for 10 minutes!!! They are children!!! We left there and found another school full of passion, understanding and knowledge in teaching young dancers!!
