Wizard Renovations Inc. in Wilder, Canyon County, Idaho began as a partnership between Michael McGarvin and Julie Marlatt. Michael's background begins with a degree in construction management with emphasis in structural. He joined his family's construction business in Caldwell, Idaho in the 1970's.
He became a journeyman carpenter in 1976 and in 1982 started business in the residential building trade. Michael joined in partnership with Julie Marlatt in 1995 to make what has become a very well rounded team. She has a strong background in lumber and material procurement, interior and exterior design.

We were contracted by a couple new to the area to do some updates on this 1940's farm house. Their intention was to live in the house while we build a large custom home. Well, the snowmageddon of 2016/2017 created some havoc while they were away. This resulted in an entire "gut" of the house. It is now such a little treasure!
This custom home stands proud and tall, just like its owners, with its copper roof. We built this home for a newly married couple and first time home owners with plans for a family in the future. Spacious rooms and an open floor plan were just a couple of these client's wishes. We worked as a family with our client's to design their space to custom fit their needs.
Wizard Renovations Inc., was contracted by this long time Idaho business man and his wife to build their "last" home. So, after an existing home was removed the project started. This 5000 square foot home is nestled in the foothills near Star. The couple actually lived on the site and consequently had first hand knowledge of how we build a home.

I am SO happy we had Mike and Julie build our custom home/shop. Mike is very detail oriented and he was amazing before, during and after our construction. He and Julie had some amazing suggestions/recommendations. He made everything "easy peasy" which is his motto. He is a man of integrity and months after finishing the job, he still takes our calls and answers any questions we have. We had some health issues during the build - not to mention materials being hard to get during Covid. He worked tirelessly to make sure everything was perfect. He is the essence of an honest, hard working builder,
