More than 130 productions happen each year at the Raven - home of community theater, school and non-profit productions, community events, our zany Mr. Healdsburg Pageant, Dancing with the Stars at the Raven, and other only-in-Sonoma County events. Performing arts are more than a momentary distraction; they reflect our dreams, expand our world, offer respite from our troubles, fill us with wonder and joy, and make us laugh out loud.
The value we place on performing arts reflects the value we place on the quality of our lives. More about the Raven Performing Arts Theater.

We are a group of individuals just like you - community-minded with an interest in preserving the performing arts. With arts funding disappearing from our schools, the responsibility for supporting the arts lies firmly with us.
When we banded together to save the historic Raven Theater in downtown Healdsburg, we had big dreams of enhancing the lives of every community member by offering a conveniently located, eclectic array of entertainment: everything from local school performances to nationally known entertainers and productions.

This audio tour features short plays on historical Healdsburg subjects. Grouped in twos and threes and geolocated in large areas, you can choose to explore on foot, by bicycle, or by automobile. This collection is not designed as a single walking tour of plays; visit in any order and split across as many days as you like.
The Raven Players is your company, devoted to creating an inclusive gathering place to share great stories. Some of our productions will make you laugh and sing. Others will make you cry, or cause you to question long-held beliefs. Who knows? Theater does all these things, and more. It's an ever-expanding lens through which we can better see ourselves and the world in which we live.
The Raven Players is committed to producing at least one original play every season. New play submissions are always welcome; from these submissions, we select scripts for regular public readings. Our goal is to then select one of those plays for a fully staged production at the Raven Theater.
In addition to an attachment of the script, you will be asked to provide your resume, a brief synopsis of the play, a brief professional biography, a brief description of the play's workshop/reading history, and any special casting/technical requirements that the play presents. The Raven Players New Play committee will select three-four plays for public readings as part of its ScripTease Series in September each year.

The Raven is delighted to sponsor Young At Heart Theatre to bring arts education to Healdsburg. The inaugural workshop took place in Summer 2019, when the Raven was home to over 40 children from all over Sonoma County! Led by director Katie Watts-Whitaker, these young actors spent their time working on acting, singing, dance, improv, and more as they prepared for a musical theater review.

Being really embedded into the Fine Arts and performing arts at that you get into the archaic and historic theaters such as the Raven. Located in the historic part of Healdsberg it is a great small venue to catch some performances.
I grew up in the Sonoma County area and this was not a theater I had been to as of yet. I came the night of Tim Flannery and the Lunatic Fringe as they performed for a benefit for the Kiwanis club and raised proceeds for their Love Harder Project as well. A great night well spent with some of Sonoma Counties finest denizens. The historic teacher seats a number of

We saw Hello Dolly last night. It was a great performance even better than I expected. We do have some excellent local talent! The theatre was a movie theatre in a past life. There is plenty of seating and the acoustics were fine. Seating is not assigned so come a little early.
They do offer beer, wine and soft drinks as well as some snacks that you can take to your seat which is nice.
This is located in downtown Healdsburg so you know there is plenty to do in the area and many wonderful places to eat nearby as well as shopping. It would make a great weekend or overnight stay for non locals

My friend and attended the Raven's performance of Evita last Sat. The director on stage said they were performing this with rock music, and we could move to the
back of the theater. We moved to the back; to the street would not have been far enough. It was so loud I had a splitting head ache and my ears hurt all night. During intermission there were lots of people talking about the horrid noise. The theater is way too small for such loud music and song. But, the actors were all very talented and the live music was good, just way to loud.

Neil Simon's The Odd Couple is having a short run at The Raven. Sadly, only ten (now nine) performances through February 10. Food and wine aside, there's probably no better way to spend an evening in Healdsburg.
After work the other day, I stopped by to catch about five minutes of a rehearsal. Only Felix and Oscar were on stage. I was struck by how wonderful the set was--local theater or not--and how much Stephen Cannon (cast as Felix) reminded me of Tony Curtis on the TV version, in stature, demeanor, and voice

I grew up a fan of the performing arts. I went to my high school plays, local theater performances in my home time, and performances at some of the larger theaters within several hours of my home.
Yesterday, a friend and I went to a performance of Chicago at The Raven and it brought back so many found memories for me.
The old-time theater offered the quaint charm of all those theaters of yesteryear. While the seating was a bit tight, the layout of the theater was perfect as I really don't think there was a bad seat in the house.
What we found interesting was the way the ticket sale were

Thanks to everyone who clued me into the fact that yelp wasn't really distinguishing between the movie theater and the performing arts venue!- oops and sorry - we LOVE the performing arts theater - have seen many events there. love that it is a vibrant part of downtown, has a huge group of local loyal volunteers and local artists/actors and musicians we get to see. really what local home town theatre is all about! and if you are lucky to walk by when the door to the ravenette (now closed) is open and jen is baking...ahh the smells are wonderful!

This review is for the Raven theater, not the cinema's. This is the best venue to see entertainment in Healdsburg and even outside of town. I am a local and look forward to all the great things they bring to my town. Check out an event soon...plays, live music, it is all great in this local theater. When you go here you are supporting our local talent, and who doesnt want to do that! Mr Healdsburg is coming up...this is a must see..you will love it.

Good selection of films and I think the prices are fine. They're no more expensive than any other theater. What bugs me are the hours the movies are shown. Why is the latest showing during the week 6:00? Aren't people eating dinner at this time? Maybe we'd like to see a movie AFTER dinner. We're not all invalids in this town ya know.
