Every day I wake up in our beautiful, warm Passive House, I have the Artisans Group to thank. Building a house can be an exhausting and terrifying experience, but not with this team. Their high level of expertise and taste was matched only by their kindness and generosity. The house we have today is a timeless combination of our unique lifestyle and their design skills - and it's perfect. I'm so grateful for the whole team's willingness to change the design at the last minute when our budget constraints were unavoidable, and the best part was when the architect provided some finishing touches

In 2010, as I was approaching sixty years of age, I found an amazing old (and run-down) homestead site near the southern tip of Puget Sound, and began imagining a house and studio. I've been a designer and fabricator of furniture and sculpture for over forty-five years, so it wasn't difficult to start developing ideas. After a year of house hunting in the Olympia area to no avail, I reached out to Artisans Group to design a home for my family. I ended up finding a not-so-perfect home in the perfect neighborhood and knew I wanted Artisans Group to help with the remodel.

After living in Olympia for 23 years, my wife and I decided to build a custom home. We chose Artisans Group to design and build the first Certified Passive House in the state. The design process was great. Tessa took into account how we live and how will live after our kids leave. The quality of construction was second to none. We have been in our home now since 2011. We still love it and get compliments on the design and quality. Now that are kids are gone, the house still is right sized with everything we need.
