Dr. Runte has been serving Nevada County since 2002. He specializes in all foot and ankle disorders, He is a past President of the Sacramento Valley Podiatric Medical Society. He is also a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Dr. Runte enjoys golf, softball, basketball, tennis, and hiking and just about anything that gets him outside and moving.
To ensure your convenience, below is the information you need about our podiatry office, including our hours, location, appointment scheduling and insurance acceptance. If, for any reason, you cannot keep a scheduled appointment or will be delayed, please call as soon as possible. Our office accepts a variety of HMOs, PPOs, Medicare and other health plans.
During the first visit, we make sure to obtain important background information, like your medical history, and give you time to get to know your doctor. We accept most insurances. List of current prescriptions and/or over-the-counter medication, including dose and frequency. You are responsible for co-payments or charges that are not covered by your insurance.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued the Final Rule implementing the prohibition of discrimination under Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) of 2010. The Final Rule, Nondiscrimination in Health Programs and Activities, will help to advance equity and reduce health disparities by protecting some of the populations that have been most vulnerable to discrimination in the health care context.

Dr. Runte is just incredible. His professionalism, examination and analysis of my foot issues has saved my ability to walk/run long distances without all of the pain, His staff is warm and welcoming. You could find NO BETTER Podiatrist. Friends I have referred here have all had nothing but the highest compliments and Dr. Runte would be the only Doctor I would refer anyone too.

Best podiatrist in the greater Sacramento area, including Placer and Nevada County. About 20 years ago I was suffering from nagging pain in the back of my knee. Multiple doctors could not figure out what the problem was. One of them even casted my leg saying that my tendons were torn. Wrong! I was advised to seek counsel with Dr. Runte and I'm glad I did. He made me custom orthotics which fit like a glove and cured my knee pain. To this day, the pain has not returned. I wear my orthotics religiously and even returned to Dr. Runte for a second pair. What a gem the foothills have in this podiatrist

I went to visit Dr. Ken when I could hardly walk. I had over exercised from golf and line dancing and damaged the balls of my feet. He made a set of orthotics with strict instructions of foot care. I’m as good as new! Now, if Doc could just improve my golf game and dancing skills as well as my tootsies, I’d be a happy camper.

Dr. Runte and his staff were great to work with. He noticed as I walked into his office what my foot problem was. He recommended surgery that would correct the problem and it was successful! He clearly outlined the recovery process and the information was exactly as predicted.

I recently had a rather poor experience with another podiatry office (out of town). I decided to call Foothill Podiatry and I am so glad I did. What an awesome office! The office staff was so friendly and got me right in. Dr. Rivera spent time listening to my concerns, then thoroughly explained my options, answered all of my questions. My x-ray was done right there in the office! Once surgery was decided upon, they explained every step (pun intended) of the process, what to expect, giving me ample time to address any concerns I had. Peggy was so friendly and helpful as well. I highly recommend

My experience with Dr Cook and his staff was very pleasant. I felt very welcomed and I received prompt and excellent care. Dr Cook spent time with me evaluating my needs and I left feeling taken care of. The staff efficiently followed up with me as well.
