Murray Hotel
When it opened in 1938, the Murray Hotel immediately became known as the standard for Art Deco luxury and elegance in Southwest New Mexico. In 2005, restorations began at the Murray to return it to its original Streamline Moderne majesty, retaining as many historical features as possible while adding Green, energy-efficient systems for guest comfort.

Reopened in 2012, our 53 guest rooms and suites now host guests from around the world! Located in the heart of Downtown Silver City, NM, the Murray Hotel is within walking distance of numerous shops, local art galleries and restaurants. Whether a guest or not, we invite you to come and tour our hotel where the hallway artwork tells the story of the historic Murray Hotel and the surrounding Silver City area.

A quaint hotel in the heart of downtown Silver City which has probably been around since the 30s or 40s. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants, ice cream shoppes and other attractions. Rooms are really small, as well as the bathrooms, unless you are a midget- and I ain't kidding. The free breakfast is top notch.
Make sure not to forget to put on your "face diaper" before walking anywhere in the hotel.

We spent the night here and were more than happy with the Murray. It's a throwback to the age of Art Deco but with enough modern amenities to satisfy the traveler of today. We chose the King Suite and it was more than we expected. The bed was comfortable and spacious so sleep came easy. The living room section of the suite had a sofa and two comfortable chairs along with a refrigerator and microwave. The suite overlooked Broadway St. but with the windows closed we didn't notice any noise. A nice continental breakfast was included in the rate. We were initially concerned with the on-street parking

Awesome place, with some serious 1930s vibes. And for a good price too. Decent sized room, nice little shower. And historical vignettes.

Super clean room and great value. This is a cute hotel right in downtown Silver City and the vibe is great. It's very art deco and harks back to the original owners. I really like this place! Hot water takes a bit to get going but its an old hotel. Definitely recommend for budget conscious people who like a good atmosphere.

Very pretty restored old hotel, right downtown, with rooms and beds that are comfortable, contemporary and stylish. Good wifi. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Several restaurants are within safe walking distance. Breakfast is typical mid-range hotel fare, but there's plenty of it and I was glad they offered it. Be aware that the hotel has no parking. I parked on the street just down the block from the hotel, which was fine and free, but I don't know Silver City well enough to know if that's completely safe, so I left nothing in the car within view.

In short: a pet friendly historic hotel in an excellent location for a visit to Silver City.
We stayed here for three nights recently. Everyone at the hotel was helpful and friendly. The walls are kinda thin and the doors don't go all the way to the floor so there's the possibility of noise but we didn't find noisier than anywhere else we've stayed. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It's an old hotel but they have window type units for ac if needed.
It's beautiful in the lobby and has an interesting history. It's quite fortunate to find a pet friendly hotel like that, especially

If your avid fan of Art Deco styling and this hotel is absolutely a must visit! It's definitely a blast to the 30s or 40s. We stayed in a small room on the 4th floor with two queen size beds with only a dresser and no refrigerator. Room and bathroom were very clean no complaints cleanliness wise. Some reviews have stated that the air conditioning units in the window were loud I found it rather comforting because I can't sleep in total silence. There are also no blackout curtains just blinds so if you're a day sleeper this may not be the hotel for you. The room's definitely have a 30s or 40s design

Would stay here again.
Pro tips: (1) there are no black out curtains, just blinds - so if early morning brightness is an issue.. bring something for your eyes (2) there’s no real way to fill you water bottle except the tub. So rely on local coffee shops to stay hydrated with your water bottle (3) make sure you ask for a room with a dresser. All rooms have closets, but the ones with a dresser are about 3 ft longer and it makes the Rolf of difference (4) rooms don’t have a fridge, so have a plan if you need to keep something cold!
The rooms are clean and nice. It’s an old property so the
