In 2014, solo practitioners James V. Anthenelli and John K. Phoebus joined former State's Attorney Kristy M. Hickman to create Anthenelli, Phoebus & Hickman, LLC. Our goal is to provide our clients with the high-quality legal representation they need in order to be successful, both inside and outside of the courtroom.
He leaves a legacy of a career in litigation, focusing on criminal defense, that spanned 38 years and a dedication to serving his community, both professionally and through his work on local nonprofit boards. Attorney Anthenelli began his career more than 35 years ago as a prosecutor in Salisbury, Maryland and has maintained an office in Salisbury since 1977.
For more than 20 years, John K. Phoebus has zealously fought for his clients in the circuit courts and district courts of Somerset County, Wicomico County, and Worcester County. Attorney Phoebus has been in private practice and focused solely on litigation for his entire career, seeking to provide his clients with the highest level of representation.

My daughter was rear ended in a terrible accident that totaled her car and injured her. John Phoebus refused to back down on holding the driver responsible. Everything was handled as swiftly as possible. The communications allowed my daughter to feel empowered instead of continuing to feel victimized. Through highly competent negotiating the case was settled in my daughter's favor with more than satisfactory compensation for her pain and suffering. I would hire this firm again in a heartbeat.

Mr. Phebous and his team is the best team there is. If Mr. Phebous believes in you he will fight for you. He is as straight forward as there is and does not throw you a line. He cares about his clients and their rights. As hard as this system is he makes it feel like you are getting a fair representation when your back is up against the wall. He works for you 100%. This team is highly recommended.
