We have been in the wood industry for over 20 years. Our hemlock is sourced locally from local woodcutters in the area. We are honest, friendly, and value our customers. In February of 2016 we moved our sawing and retail lumber operation to the former Mace Lumber Company on Route 17 in Readfield, Maine. We have been met with great people that value having a local lumber company back in town.
Services
In June of 1998 we bought our first sawmill. It was portable and Russ did custom sawing on site, fitting it in on nights and weekends. In 2002, we purchased a piece of land in Mount Vernon and parked the sawmill on that site, continuing the custom sawing while building our home and working full time for Potter Oil Company.
He is grooving, back priming and using a stain wash before drilling and screwing boards in place. Credit must go to Joseph George for stopping in and showing me amazing pictures of his carpentry skills he used on homes he built. I took a palm sander and smoothed off the splinters but let the character of the circular saw mark show.

I have never been here before but a client of mine requested I get my trim boards here instead of the big box stores.
I'm glad I did they were very friendly and quick and picked out the nicest boards for me to use on trim. I hadn't even said that I was using it to stain and so I really needed the nicest I could get.
I will go again when working in the area! Support local there is a more value to them.
