I should have read these reviews before hiring them. We ordered a new front for our fireplace and was told we would be called in 4 weeks to schedule the installation. Seven weeks later I called THEM and we set up a time. The guy (who did the original estimate and knew what the fireplace looked like and what we ordered) who came to do the work did not bring the correct materials. Fast forward, it has been over a week and no one has ever called to say when they will finish this job. Meanwhile I have the new fireplace front leaning against the wall. I had to put up a blanket to cover this gaping

Very, very poor service and they don't stand behind their products. Purchased a free standing gas stove five years ago. It stopped working the first year. Called and they came and "fixed" it. Repeat this for three years. This year, again, it doesn't work. Called and was told someone would call back. That was a month ago. Called again and was "disconnected". No one will return my call and whoever answers the phone can't help. Save your money and go to a different provider.

Very nice people to deal with. I went mostly for smoker supplies and the lady was very helpful. So let me try different rubs for flavor and also barbecue sauces. They have a great selection of different types of spices and sauces. Very easy to find their store and the best Thing they not only sell but she was smoking stuff the day I was there so they Use their products also. I would recommend checking then out.

We had a new construction home built this past year and we selected a wood burning fireplace from Fireplaces Plus for our living room. After they installed it, I was checking out the install. There is a fresh air intake pipe coming out the side and up through the ceiling into the attic. I touched it, and it fell out to the floor. I thought it was odd that it wasn't attached to an outside intake vent, so I grabbed the installation manual.
The manual very clearly states that the fresh air intake is to be installed OUTSIDE the envelope of the house with an intake vent in the soffit or outside

Very poor service after the sale! Called in December to get some brick cut for the fireplace insert that was purchased and installed by Fireplaces Plus. The salesman instructed us on how to measure the brick. Was told on the phone by that salesman that it would be a week. We drove from Iowa City the following Saturday to find a sign on the door that said closed, taking inventory. Someone saw us at the door and came over. We were told that if we didn't get a call that they were not ready. No indication of when they would be ready or apology. We have called twice since then and both

First visit: shop was busy and no one helped us. Second time we went back, service was excellent. They offered to drive 30 miles to Aledo to estimate our project the same week. When the workmen installed, their work was professional and clean. Fully recommend Fireplaces Plus.
Of two other companies in QC, one did not come out after repeated contacts requesting a bid. The second shop had closed.

Sales is great, and friendly. They went the extra mile to get me a stainless face.
Service persons are friendly, but actual service work needs work and improvement. During the install the installer did not install according local codes, disagreed with the Bettendorf build codes and did not install accordingly. Came back 2nd time, and refused to fix according to build codes, then argued with the inspector. Third time they came back after I had to call them to insist they fix it to pass code so I could finish building.
Soon after, the pipe that was going through the concrete wall was separating
