Services
Prairieland Market has deep roots in Salina and the surrounding community. Founded in 1978 as an organic buyers club, the Market has evolved over the years into its current shape and home as a local and organic food retail space in the Walnut Street neighborhood at 305 E. Walnut in Salina. Prairieland Market is a non-profit organization, built upon its staff, donors, subscribers, producers, board members, and volunteers!
Prairieland Market hosts and participates in numerous events in the community throughout the year. Below are ones you can look forward to! Feast on the Fe is a farm-to-fork fundraising event and celebration organized by the Local Food Works Foundation and a large group of volunteers. Ticket proceeds fund the Local Food Works Foundation Grant Program.
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. We are all about connecting you with the people who grow your food. When you sign up for a CSA share, you sign up for fresh, healthy food grown by farmers who live, work, and shop in your own community. If you've been to the farmers markets here in town, you've probably met most of them!
As we are transitioning from a 501(c)(12) nonprofit Co-Op to a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, we are partnering with Local Food Works Foundation as our fiscal sponsor, so that all donations to support Prairieland and our plans for the future are 100% tax-deductible. We encourage our patrons to become supporters with a one-time, monthly, or yearly contribution.
Vision: Create a food market that promotes personal, community, and environmental nourishment by supporting local/regional and organic food production, as well as consumer education, with access for all. The Prairieland Market in Salina, Kansas is re-inventing itself! We are expanding and moving to a new location in downtown Salina, with a whole different look and feel.

Locally prepared entrees, soups, snacks, and jams. Locally roasted coffee and teas. Their mission is to promote local food and resilience. All of their products are very yummy.

I was greeted when I first walked in, really cool place. They have tons of meats KC strips, summer sausage pork ribs, sausage links, cured ham, and beef brisket. It doesn't end there locally grown popcorn and various organic options all the way from beans to oats to pasta. The store adds a little extra as you can pick from a various amount of spices all the way to home made salsa. Very nice place to come to with some great hospitality.
