This practice was first established by Andrew Longley Jr, DO in 1975. I began working with Dr. Longley as a medical student here in 1985. After graduating from the University of New England, College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1989, I continued to see patients here, while completing a Residency in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine.
When Dr. Longley passed away suddenly in 1991, I took over the practice, and eventually went on to become Board Certified in Family Medicine as well as Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. Over the past 23 years, the practice has evolved into one that provides general Osteopathic care to people of all ages, in an effort to treat a broad spectrum of health issues.

Osteopathy is a medical science that was first developed in the late 1800's by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still. Dr. Still's beliefs strayed from the medical practices of that time, and from allopathic (MD) physicians, in that he felt the role of the physician was to find the Health in their patients, not to simply identify diseases and treat symptoms.
Acupuncture is a science and art of diagnosis and treatment that was first developed almost 3,000 years ago in China. In it's simplest form, Acupuncture is a way to help achieve balance and harmony in the body. This is achieved by allowing qi (pronounced "chi") to flow freely along meridians, or pathways throughout the body.
Although most people associate Osteopathic manipulation wit the treatment of back and neck pain, it was originally designed to treat many other conditions as well. Osteopathy is, in it's truest sense, intended to bring patients closer to Health. This is achieved in a number of different ways, but in a general, it is accomplished by helping to create balance in the body.in the nervous and musculoskeletal systems, and in the fluids of the body.
