Services
We get the greatest benefits from therapy when we can speak candidly with our counselor and trust him or her to create a safe space for us to explore our ideas, thoughts, and emotions. It is absolutely critical for the connection to feel like a "good fit" between us and our therapist, because that relationship provides the arena where change, growth, and healing can happen.
Individual online therapy takes us on a journey of self-understanding, healing past hurts, improving current relationships, increasing healthy coping mechanisms, and finding self-acceptance. Do you want to communicate better in your relationship? Are you sick of having the same fight over and over and want to feel closer and more connected to your partner?
Individual therapy takes us on a journey of self-understanding, healing past hurts, improving current relationships, increasing healthy coping mechanisms, and finding self-acceptance. In individual therapy, you can explore current stress and work through the present situations with support of a counselor.
If you are woman who critical of almost everything you do or you find yourself never feeling good enough, we can help. If you're always trying to make other people happy but don't stop long enough to take care of yourself, you have come to the right place. If you have lost touch with who you really are and what you want out of life, counseling can help.
Often anxiety and stress can take over to the point where you start to wonder if you could ever feel any other way. It can seem like each day is a race of to-do lists and worries. With support and guidance from a caring therapist, you can start to worry less, feel better and more at peace with yourself, create more fulfilling relationships with others and really begin to enjoy your life.

I feel lucky that I met Amy Hooper through a professional consultation group that I began a few years ago, of other therapists in private practice. I have gotten to know Amy and the way in which she runs her practice - with such attention to detail and ethical and clinical responsibility to her clients. I had no hesitation making a referral to Amy's practice this past year with the knowledge that this client would be well taken care of by her group. I easily recommend Amy and her associates for therapy needs in Gaithersburg.

I've been a therapist in private practice in Montgomery County since the 1980's having enjoyed some notoriety after the Washingtonian named me one of the top trauma therapists in the metro area following September 11, 2001. Now I am nearing retirement and am in more need then ever for good referrals. Amy Hooper is one Montgomery County therapist that I trust and admire. I've known her for years and appreciate her compassion, her clinical acumen and her practicality. I will continue to refer to Amy and her group in the future and recommend them highly.

I have had the pleasure of working with Gaithersburg Counseling Center as a therapist there for several years and as an administrator. Gaithersburg Counseling Center is such a warm group of therapists with a wide array of specialties and clinical approaches. Each therapist is extremely empathetic, compassionate and genuine and they all truly enjoy the work that they do. Amy Hooper, the owner, is so passionate about the work done by the therapists and the clients they serve. I would highly recommend Gaithersburg Counseling Center to anyone seeking therapy.

The therapists and staff at Gaithersburg Counseling Center really care. I have been with our team for several years, providing each new person who reaches out specialized attention with warmth and compassion. As the Client Liaison, I aim to provide prompt, comfortable methods of communication to make sure you get the help you need right away. Each client's healing journey is unique, and I enjoy speaking with each person. Many people come to our Center because they have heard a friend, colleague, or family member has had a good experience here.
