Testing is being done at Boundary Hospital; Bonner General Health; Newport Hospital & Kootenai Health. In order to limit the amount of patients in the waiting room you are more than welcome to wait in your car. Just call us when you get here. Masks are still required the entire time you are visiting our office (no face shields). You will also be asked screening questions each time you come in. Family Health Center knows that you can't always wait days or weeks to be seen so we offer same-day appointments for urgent care needs such as acute injuries or illness. This allows our established patients to be seen by a physician who is familiar with their health and avoid a costly urgent care or emergency room visit.
Originally from Colorado, he attended school at the Oregon Health Sciences University and then completed residency in Spokane. He enjoys pediatrics, sports medicine, and diabetic care. He serves as medical adviser and volunteers at the Bonner Partners in Care Clinic for the area's uninsured. In his free time he enjoys competing in triathlons, skiing and travel.

If this review system would allow negative stars they earned them! I had abdominal pain in my side and requested an appointment. I called on a tuesday and the soonest they would see me was Friday. If this were an appendicitis I would be dead by Friday. Luckily I found a medical practice that saw me that day. Later I discovered I had covid and contacted the office for an appointment. I didn't have trouble breathing and had a slight fever. They refused to see me and said to go to the ER. They wouldn't even come to my car as other offices allow. Seriously? PSo Family Health Center since it lived near the High School in 1994. It's been a hot minute. I'm writing as while I'm not disparaging the negative reviews here in the slightest, but because they could not be more polar opposite to my experience with Dr. Meulenberg (and Family Health Center) for all this time. He has seen me through minor blips, pregnancy at 42, a child with sudden blindness and tumor, then aneurisms and a husband (now divorced) experiencing a stroke after recovery from severe head trauma.

I am sure their physicians are great. I decided to cancel my visit after they requested my health information in a way that violated HIPPA rules and would have put my personal information, including my social security number at risk. This gives me serious doubts about the integrity and security of their patient data they are entrusted and required to keep secure.

I needed a GP so went to this health center. I had one appointment to meet the doctor and a flu shot later on there. I didn't realize there are senior flu shots so I called them back to find out if they had given me the senior flu shot for over 65 yrs old. I left a message and never heard back from them. I waited 3 weeks and called again. They said they didn't have the senior flu shot, so ok, no problem if they didn't have it. This is a small town. I am not thrilled with Dr. Rainer because I'm in pain and asked for a referral which she said I didn't need right now. I am staying because they have other doctors there. I will give TINA 10 OUT OF 5 STARS. She is the reason I have not changed providers. She does more than just the referrals. She cares and goes beyond her job description to help you. This review is in regards to the medical records department. We have a mutual patient and I had faxed over a signed records release to receive records for the patient for their appointment today. I called to double check that we can have the records faxed over as soon as possible and to confirm I am having a form sent over with the patient's consent. I've been a patient of Family Health Center and Dr. Kara Waters for almost a year and a half, and I've been very happy with both Dr. Waters and the staff at FHC. I certainly cannot speak to previous reviewers' experiences, but my own experience has been terrific, and I've had quite a few doctors over the years.

Not only did they refuse to provided needed medication, they wrote a prescription they knew was not covered by insurance, oops. Dr. Waters is the most unprofessional, butt covering and uncaring physician I've come across in my 61 years. Further, inexplicably, since I was a new patient, they made me sign a form transferring my medical records to them. Ok, fine. Now that they have them I asked if I could get a copy.
