Our story began in 1960, when C.L. Cook formed a union masonry business in the Atlanta area. In the 1970's, as Georgia began its evolution into an open-shop state, he recognized that the future in masonry in the South was as a non-union contractor, and thus Pyramid Masonry Contractors was established in 1976.
In 1979, C.L. hired John Doherty, who quickly rose to become President and held that position for over 30 years until his retirement in 2013. With John and C.L.'s experience and business leadership, Pyramid quickly grew to become a major subcontractor in the Southeastern U.S. In 1987, the company opened branch offices in Orlando, FL and in Charlotte, NC.

Pyramid Masonry is one of the nation's leaders in commercial and industrial masonry construction, and we have proudly served the southeastern United States since 1976. Our experienced team of project managers and field superintendents work together with our clients to provide quality masonry products from preconstruction through project completion.
Pyramid Masonry is fully committed to providing a safe worksite for our employees. Our safety director, Scott Wyatt, works closely with local and federal safety regulators to ensure our program meets or exceeds the industry's standards. Scott also works closely with our clients' safety directors to develop site-specific safety programs for our unique projects.
Since our beginning, we have recognized that project owners are looking for a building they can be proud of, and we share in that pride by providing some of the best quality masonry projects in the region. Our commercial projects have included office buildings, retail centers, sports facilities, and many others.
We are proud to have been a part of many buildings that our troops live and work in daily to help protect our great country. We have performed dozens of military masonry construction projects on bases including barracks, dining halls, youth centers, education facilities, maintenance facilities, and command operating facilities.
Many of the general contractors we work with have healthcare divisions which build new and renovated hospitals, medical office buildings, research laboratories, and other healthcare facilities. Pyramid Masonry is sensitive to the specific nature of these projects and recognizes the elevated level of care needed to construct buildings to house the nation's medical community.
