Joseph Zabihi and Daniel started this business in 1978 in New York, hence the initials of our business name J&D Oriental Rugs Co. J&D Oriental Rugs Co. is a third generation family-owned company with a passion for antique and vintage decorative carpets. One of New York City's most respected sources of antique and vintage one of a kind decorative carpets from all over the world. They carry carpets in all sizes, including oversizes, runners, small mats and odd shaped rugs.
Each Pillow we carry are one of a Kind made from an antique or vintage rugs from regions all over the world. Each come with a poly-fill insert and a zipper closure in case you would like to use your own insert. They are backed in cotton too unless specified otherwise in description. We have over 3,000 currently in stock.
The wool of the Antique & Vintage Carpets are rich and durable so we only recommend Professionally Cleaning them once every 5-10 years. It is best to interfere as little as possible with this natural protection, so please avoid treatments such as moth-proofing, dry cleaning or steam cleaning. A weekly cleaning is also suggested with a non-electric sweeper rather than a high suction vacuum cleaner.
We ONLY acquire Rugs that at are Antique & Vintage ( at least 50 years old) in any type of Condition. Contemporary / Modern Rugs will not work for us. We also can take a rug on consignment at an agreed upon price if you are not in a hurry to sell. An asking price/price estimate will increase the chance that you will recieve a response.
