Chimney Sweep Two
The Chimney Sweep Shop started in 1973 on Dorset St. in South Burlington, and has worked hard ever since to bring you the best in wood stoves and fireplaces. The business quickly outgrew its cramped location. Owner Roy L'Esperance purchased the large 14,000 square foot building on Shelburne Road where we still are today.

Over the years we've changed the displays of stoves, fireplaces and accessories and have carried lines from Garrison, Hearthstone, Elmira, Vermont Castings and Jotul. Multiple expansions have helped make Chimney Sweep one of the largest retail hearth shops in the country. We are constantly updating our displays of fireplaces installed in walls, cabinets, bars, and wall units to keep pace with modern tastes.
Services
We know that a stove is not simply a heating source, it's a placemaker. It's where everyone gathers on chilly evenings, whether it's with a good book, with the family, or with a special 4 legged friend. Whether it's gas fireplace inserts or wood pellet stoves, we have the knowledge and experience to create the warmth and ambiance around your hearth and in your home.
Over the years, the increase in demand for gas appliances has kept our service department hard at work. Early on, we were occasionally solving wood stove problems, but quickly found we needed to have certified gas service technicians available for our customers. At first we contracted this service to an outside company, but it soon became apparent that we needed to invest in our own trained, certified technicians.
Home heating with a stove can be done in a number of ways. Whether you're heating a multi-room house or a cottage on the lake, stoves make an ideal heating system to keep you comfortable during the long northern winters. Wood stoves offer a classic look along with an efficient warmth and EPA certification for environmentally friendly heating.
If you want the appearance and warmth of a wood stove but you don't have readily available firewood, our gas stoves would be perfect. They have all of the advantages of their wood burning counterparts - without the wood. These stoves are perfect for apartments, houses in the city or anywhere that makes ventilation difficult.
The differences between fireplaces and wood stoves have decreased over the years. Both typically have glass panels that allow you to view the fire. Fireplaces are now so efficient that they meet some of the same strict EPA standards that wood stoves meet. They both can also be used for central heating by connect heat ducts.

I waited 8 weeks for a service call only to be told when I called to confirm the appointment on the morning of that I wasn't on the schedule anywhere and that they would have to reschedule No thank you. There should be a choice for NO or negative stars. If they can't even make and keep an appointment I have to wonder about the work they do. And along with being clueless, the person I spoke with had no remorse for their screwup.

We are very unhappy with this business. We bought a gas stove and have had serious problems with it almost yearly due to a defect in the product that we discovered after the warranty. Customer service is terrible starting with a rude person who answers the phone and claims to be helpless about getting us an answer as the the cause for delay of a repair and who responds contemptuously to our question as to when we might expect to get the stove back with the following: "It will be ready when it's ready" and no further information. IF the company is short staffed an explanation to that effect would

Here are a few things of note about the chimney sweep fireplace shop. It's not great, it's not terrible, but make sure you get the name of who you are working with and a paper copy or receipt of whatever you order from them. I have had them misplace multiple orders over the years at both locations.

I was told your customer service was poor but decided to go in anyway as I desperately need a new stove. I honestly can't believe how horrible it actually is.
When I went in, the gentleman showed me exactly one stove and told me the others were out of my price range (he never actually asked my price range though). He then told me the things that would need to be done before installation (gas line and chimney inspection). After I did those, I called to actually buy the stove and schedule the installation and was told by someone else that I was wrong and that that wasn't what the original gentleman

The company came over to clean our gas fireplace in October. They said it was leaking carbon monoxide and red tagged it during the cleaning, stating it needed 3 new gaskets. I've called 4 times since inquiring about the gaskets. If you want anything done in a reasonable amount of time call another company.

We had both our Vermont Castings stoves installed with them about 2 years ago. We spent well over 11,000 dollars with them. Customer service was not great and they were not friendly .. but at least they did get the job done. Now I need replacement parts, catalysts for each stove. I called 3 weeks ago and asked them to be ordered. No timeframe on when they would be in. Called today after I heard nothing, multiple calls unanswered. Finally get someone to answer the phone and they can't tell me anything! Avoid them if possible! Great to sell you something and then no service. Take your money elsewhere
