Hok-Si-La Park & Campground
Hok-Si-La is a 252 acre, municipally owned and operated park located on the Minnesota side of Lake Pepin. The park offers spectacular views of the Mississippi River, Lake Pepin, and the surrounding bluffs. Enjoy the Mississippi River by experiencing tent camping at its best, listen to Barred Owls while snug inside sleeping cabins, launch a boat at the public boat ramp, or swim and relax on the sandy beach.

Take time to explore the mile long stretch of Mississippi River shoreline, check out the interpretive center, enjoy the kids at the playground, play volleyball or basketball, enjoy a picnic or relax at the chapel. Facilities include a dining hall, screened shelters, tent camping and six sleeping cabins.
Services
Dining hall was remodeled winter of 2018/19. Ash trees from the park supplied the tongue & groove boards for the walls. Electric wiring overhaul as well as LED lighting with dimmer switches completed the new look. Facebook & Twitter show images from all stages. The view from Hok-Si-La Park dining hall of the beach and the Wisconsin Bluffs is spectacular.
Campsites located above Lake Pepin offer tent campers a spectacular view of the Mississippi River. Lake Pepin was created by the widening of the Mississippi River. Make reservations early for lake view sites. Potable water is located throughout the campground. Two modern bathhouses (flush toilets and showers) are located above the swimming beach and close to the dining hall.
Nestled in a grove of pines, this is the perfect place for an outdoor wedding, renewal ceremony, baptism, family celebrations or to enjoy the scent of pine needles. The chapel is open 8 am till 10 pm and has electricity. Reservations can be made by calling the park office. If you wish to tour park facilities from mid Oct. till mid April call to set up time to meet with park manager.
We are working on software upgrade to give guest option of on line booking for regular sites. Continue to call or email if you want sites and park guidlines clarified. We are also here to make reservations. Events facility (dining hall), screened shelters, group sites and chapel will continue to be booked through park staff.

Really pretty park. Nature's trails are easy walking. Paved extension of the city path from parking lot to join with the city's walking path is littered with pepples though. Very dangerous for skates and smaller bikes. The park's driveway is awesomely smooth.

Date of Visit: 10/19/2021 - Visited this place just to look around a bit during what is likely "off season." There were only a couple other people in the park & everything seemed to be put away. Lovely beach, tons and tons of shells. Would anticipate this location being very busy in the summer.

Stopped in our 25’ RV and parked in the parking lot to ride out the rain and enjoy the park for a little while. It’s beautiful and well taken care of. My husband went in the office and was treated poorly and rudely like we shouldn’t be enjoying this fantastic park. It’s so beautiful and sparked real emotion for me on a damp fall day after walking our dogs around the park, only to be rudely greeted in the office by a city employee. Not a very nice welcome for a visitor. Wow. Wanted to come back some day but if this is how visitors are treated, no thanks. Pretty sad. In the middle star review

Great park hidden off the beaten path. There are campsites, cabins and a swimming beach. The water is beautiful and the wild life is pretty amazing. Eagles and pelicans are plenty. A great place to visit.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds to visit every year (since 2011). We've started to bring friends along the last couple years, and they have really enjoyed it as well. Joanne is great and helpful, and we always look forward to planning our next trip. Things that we enjoy:
Being right by the water, group sites, cabin rentals, eagle sightings, the large beach, the
expansive layout of the grounds, close to Lake City (check out the Bank Bar), the friendly staff, the office is convenient (they carry basic items you might need or forgot), and is just an all around great place. We highly recommend

Unfortunately horrible experience. The site manager is rude and insulting. If you make a comment she doesn't like, she will start to harass. Woods are small and expensive.
They won't let you to have your car around you. They will give you 15min to unload car.
Camp sites too close together and you have to pay for showers. The customer service is awful.

The campground is quite nice. It's huge, with plenty of grounds for hosting large gatherings. We didn't check out any of the recreational facilities, but the campsite we stayed at was nice and forested, with enough privacy. I woke up with a fat tick on me, so watch out!

We enjoyed our stay here but if we go back, will stay in the G or N sections which are much more secluded and quiet than the A section which was more crowded and noisy. The beach is fantastic but the sand is a little sharp so water shoes would be good to bring. The staff is very helpful and responsive, when we did have a noisy neighbor issue it was handled right away. My kids loved the basketball court and playground.
