I am the Business Manager here at The Human Connection. You will most likely talk to me when you call in or contact us via email. I take great pride in matching every client with the right counselor to provide them with the best possible support. I do all of our billing, manage the building, and support the public in understanding the services we offer.
I was born and raised in Sandpoint, and while I've had the privilege of traveling, Sandpoint has always been my favorite place. I love the mountains that surround our beautiful home, and spend as much time in them as I can, whether that's hiking, camping, or riding my horse. When you visit our counseling center you may also meet the office dog and my adventure buddy, Loki, who hasn't met a human he doesn't love.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy is an evidenced-based therapeutic system created over thirty years ago and implemented in the successful treatment of trauma and trauma-related disorders and symptomologies. The Human Connection is now offering Neurotherapy services, including Neurofeedback and Neurostimulation, to complement our traditional counseling services. Neurotherapy is a powerful and highly effective tool that can improve your mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
When used in conjunction with psychological counseling, Neurotherapy can enrich early childhood development, facilitate learning and memory throughout the lifespan, enhance the ability to regulate emotional states, and speed recovery from emotional and physical trauma, including direct injury to the brain.

Came to Karen with an aggressive drive to resolve a potent PTSD + paranoia + anxiety combo that spiked horribly due to an event at my work. Life seemed to be spiraling out of my control. When I came to The Human Connection I wasn’t sure this would help as I have tried therapy sessions before. I was very thankful to have found them, especially thankful for Connie Mitchell, she was the breath of fresh air I needed. It has been two years and Connie has and is showing me the “light at the end of the tunnel”.
