User-Friendly Computing was established in 1993 by Peter Huemer and Valerie Bettenhausen. Having worked for a number of other consulting companies since 1985, Peter had come to recognize a real need for professional on-site computer service in Santa Cruz County. Today, our satisfied clientele includes hundreds of local businesses, governmental entities, organizations, and private parties.

Since our founding over 25 years ago, we have been providing one of the broadest and most comprehensive local service and sales offerings throughout Santa Cruz and Monterey County, providing on-site service for business networks, personal computers, printers, and technology peripherals. We pride ourselves on the customer loyalty we have earned through years of high-quality personal service.

You will forever be known to this office as 'Saint Peter'. Thanks for your outrageous service today. We could not have done it without your expertise. Your ability to move forward overcoming technical obstacles within the Mac v. PC networking environments, in combination with caring nature, left our systspan, and spirits in great shape.
I'm so glad they're still around. I've literally used these guys longer than the 7+ years they've been around. I remember watching The Hurt Locker at his house while he was fixing a RROD issues on my Xbox 360 before they even had a true store front. I had an issue with my PS3 on my most recent trip and they used a part from a PS3 of theirs on premises (used for parts) to get mine running properly for mere pennies on what it should've cost!
For those customers who prefer to bring their equipment in to us, many upgrades and forms of service can be performed at our shop while-you-wait. An in-house diagnostic (up to 30 minutes) is a flat fee of $50, and in-house work is performed at $99/hr. We provide regular on-site service weekdays (8AM to 6PM) at $149/hr.
For a flat monthly fee, User-Friendly Computing can provide your organization with basic support service plus a limited number of monthly support hours. Positive: Professionalism, Responsiveness
My laptop started smoking and shut down. Never a good sign.
I called Travis at User Friendly computing and within a day he was able to extract the hard drive and save the data files! He was responsive and professional and the price was reasonable.

The fix turned out to be quite the adventure, but they stuck with it and only charged me for parts and the originally quoted one hour of labor.

An amazing bit of much customer service that so many companies forget about. Will continue to use for another 7+ years. loll

It has been a while since I stopped by for computer help, but today I nervously brought my dead laptop in and they were able to get it checked out and running in 10 minutes... and did not even charge me!!! It turned out to have had a little water damage and also was suffering from my constant over-use. They gave me clear and helpful information on how to keep it more responsive and trouble-shoot for myself in the future. Would highly recommend these guys. Thanks!!!!

Toshiba laptop that is only a few years old started having video problems when opening the lid. USC (User Friendly Computer) diagnosed for free, unfortunately the repair cost more than a new laptop. When I was searching for some files on the old laptop it asked me for my password that no longer worked. USC got into it and informed me of an issue in the operating system that randomly does this, not me, again no charge. I brought them a new laptop to transfer the old, very old software into the new system. We are back in business in only one day and at a price that was shockingly affordable. The

As the owners of Santa Cruz Digital Solutions we would like to state publicly that we have never had a person named Luke employed here. The owner of User Friendly Computers is for reasons unknown to us is attempting to slander us on the internet. There is plenty of business for us here in Santa Cruz and we know nothing about User Friendly and the negative comments they receive. We have nothing to do with such tactics that we are accused of here. We ask that User Friendly act professionally and desist from further pointless accusations.
