I'm Michelle - a quirky Maryland permanent makeup artist, former professional body painter, mom to 3 kids, and female entrepreneur with her eyes on the prize. Services
Corrective or touchup work over top of other artists' work, 1st appointment: $575 + $250 correction fee (please visit the Policies Page Before Scheduling). I use a specially calibrated tattoo machine and disposable, factory sterilized needles to create transparent layers of color until the desired saturation is achieved.
Skincare : This is key. If you are using anything with any anti-aging claims then you must discontinue it.
This is a non-exhaustive list of ingredients you will discontinue for 6 weeks : Retinol, Vitamin A Palmitate, Retinal, Retinoic Acid, bakuchiol, Gluconolactone, Tretinoin, retinyl palmitate, retinaldehyde, isotretinoin, adapalene, tazarotene, alitretinoin, and bexarotene, alpha Hydroxy acids, AHA, glycolic acid and lactic acid, hydroxycaprylic acid, and hydroxycapric acid.These ingredients are often hidden in the ingredients list.

Be gentle when washing - Permanent Makeup is a Tattoo and it is an open wound for the first few days. You must be soft when washing and rinsing. Remove your face makeup with makeup remover and wash the rest of your face by rubbing in your cleaner, avoid the eyebrows, and then wipe off your cleanser with a damn cloth.

I'm just here to add yet another 5-star review for Michelle! She is not only very talented at what she does, but she's a legitamite sweetheart. I had my powder brows and permanent top lid eyeliner done by her and they both look great. I can't tell you how nice it is to wake up in the morning and only have to put mascara on! I highly recommend Haiku Ink if you are in the market for any of her services.

I have seen Michele a few times now. She is fantastic at her craft, she’s incredibly thorough and always takes the extra time to make sure everything is just right before she gets started, while she’s working and when she’s finished. You can tell how much she cares about her work and her clients. I have been So thrilled with the results and plan to see her anytime I want to get any future work done or if I ever need any touch ups.

Michelle was wonderful to work with. She took her time, made me feel comfortable, encouraged me to make changes to the custom brows she drew before she started (if needed), and made sure I knew exactly how to care for my new brows. I was going to wait until my touch up appointment to comment, but my new brows are so incredible I had to review her early. Thanks to Michelle I have new confidence and no longer worry about drawing on crooked and obviously fake brows. They look so natural. I would recommend Michelle and Haiku Ink to anyone looking for permanent makeup.

I wish I had discovered Haiku Ink and permanent makeup (PMU) sooner! Michelle gave me my first tattoo (lash line enhancement) and the experience couldn’t have been more wonderful.
First, she spent 30+ minutes with me on the phone ahead of my appointment answering any questions I might have.
Her studio/office was in the medical pavilion in Columbia which somehow made things feel more comfortable. (It’s also a beautiful studio and itself a work of art!)

I absolutely love my powder brows! The shape and color are pure perfection, and I love how much more elegant and "finished" my face looks even without a lick of makeup. This was 100% the right decision for me.
Michelle is a true artist and consummate professional. She takes her time and will fuss with the drawing part of the tattoo process until you are 100% satisfied. I just got my touchup and can't wait to see them when they're healed! I'm already planning to go back in a couple of years when the color has faded--I wouldn't let anyone else touch my brows.

I have researched and contemplated doing either Microblading or Powder Brows for a couple years now. I found Haiku from a friend who recently had her brows done by Michelle, and I absolutely loved the way they turned out. Today I went in for my first appointment and it was fabulous! Michelle was thorough, professional, cleanly and had the best energy! She explained everything before she did it and walked me through the process step by step. My experience with Michelle was absolutely amazing. I love, love, love the way my eyebrows turned out! Her attention to detail, both with the crafting of my eyebrows and her interaction with me, was impeccable. She was such a pleasure to work with. She prepared me every step of the way and it so gentle with her technique. I started this journey only wanting eyeliner and ended up with eyeliner, brows and lips! Michelle did an outstanding job with eyebrows. I had the powder brow done. I am very fair skinned and very blonde eyebrows. Hated every morning to have to do something to them to look like I had eyebrows. My daughter-in-law recommended her to me after she had hers done. Both of ours look amazing. I used to think permanent makeup was stupid. What if something goes wrong? You're stuck with it. Disfigured for life. Then I matured and realized, like all things, if you do your homework, read reviews, compare results, permanent (tattoo) makeup can be a blessing. Like many women, eyebrows are the most difficult to create to look natural. Now, after having my eyebrows done at Haiku Ink, I don't have to worry about that anymore. My eyebrows are perfect! I was originally going to go somewhere else in nc because I couldn't find anyone in the dmv area that did eyebrows. Lashes seem to be more popular.

She didn't do microblading on my brows... which is good cuz I'm positive I scab and scar easily.
The day before the appt she texted me. I let her know I was deaf so a mask made things hard but as I walked in, she was prepared with texting me and showing me how she was doing things.

I could not be happier with both of my experiences at Haiku Ink! Michelle did my microblading and permanent eyeliner and I get compliments all the time! I was nervous at first and wasn't sure what to expect. The FAQ page on Michelle's website was so informative and answered a lot of my questions before I ever even went in for my appointment. Once I was at my appointment, Michelle made sure to go over every step beforehand and during both procedures. She made me feel so comfortable and she is so patient with any questions you may have. I cannot recommend Haiku Ink enough!!
