We specialize in PRIVATE Indian River cruises including Sunset and Sightseeing/Dolphin cruises in Vero Beach, Florida since 2007. We are centrally located on the barrier island side of Vero beach just 5 minutes from hotels on the beach and 15 minutes from Disney's Vero Beach resort. Cruises depart from McWilliams park boat ramp, the first ramp when you come in park.

Services
All of our sunset and dolphin/sightseeing cruises last approximately one and a half hours and are completely private. We strive to provide a memorable and enjoyable experience on your Indian River Lagoon cruise. Our vessel is custom built for your enjoyment and is one of the nicest vessels around. We have wrap-around cushioned seating and a large bimini top that shades 75 percent of the vessel.
Captain Kirby has been a resident of the Treasure Coast since 1972 and has spent most of his free and professional time on the Indian River and in the Bahamas as a professional Guide. Capt. Kirby holds a U.S.C.G Master's License along with sailing and towing endorsements. If you are looking for someone who knows the Indian River Lagoon better than anyone else you are in the right place.
Our boat an upscale vessel with cushioned wrap-around seating. There is also a lavatory with flushing toilet on board for guest comfort. She is a very stable vessel with a shallow draft that makes her the perfect vessel for exploring the Indian River. She also comes with a stereo for your listening pleasure.
There is an $80 flat rate for the first 1-2 people and then $35 per additional adult and $15 per child under 10 years old for parties of 3 or more. It is highly recommended to make reservations as we are typically fully booked several weeks in advance. My ten year old niece and I went out on our own private cruise with Capt. Kirby. It was absolute bliss -- Kirby spotted wildlife from afar and we got to see many dolphin, a manatee and her BABY! - a bull shark, a tarpon, an oyster eating bird (forgot the name) with a bright orange beak, an osprey and much more. Leaned so many interesting facts about the history of Vero, the houses on the water, and VERO MAN -- which it turns out (oh well gee, you better hear it on the cruise.). Kirby was fun to talk to and is a native Florida life guard, EMT, and so much more. Felt very much looked after. HIGHLY

This was a fantastic trip! Captain Kirby was so awesome! The whole trip was amazing...from seeing dolphins and ospreys to the amazing homes along the river and even a bonus private concert clip from Scotty Emerick. He got us amazing views of the sunset, and he even recommended a really good restaurant that we tried and loved (12A Buoy in Ft Pierce). Highly recommend the sunset cruise, you will love it!

Had a very enjoyable and relaxing 90 minute ride around some of the Indian River Lagoon. Capt had lots of info on the waterway, wildlife, and area developments. Also got some local dining recommendations that we are looking forward to trying out. One important note; as a person who has mobility issues, the pick up area is very close to parking so getting to and from the boat and car were very easy. The boat itself was open and easy to get around in. I would recommend this for people who have these sort of challenges.

We booked a sunset cruise for a weekday during our vacation to Vero beach. Captain Kirby arrived to the dock early. His boat was clean and no less than five minutes into our hour and a half long cruise we saw dolphins.
Captain Kirby was informative, funny and gave us a great restaurant recommendation (see my review on Riverside Cafe). His vast knowledge of the area and waterways made for a relaxing and stress free cruise. The cruise was private and his boat offers a bathroom, both of which are not common with other local boat tours.
We will book another cruise next

An outstanding experience at a very reasonable price! We saw dolphins and a baby manatee and learned a lot about the area that we cruised through on a very comfortable boat. Capt. Kirby was so nice and full of facts. Best part was that we were able to bring our dog along and she loved it too! A boat to ourselves with a knowledgeable tour guide for $30 a person? Amazing. Highly recommend.

Captain Kirby is great! He was very knowledgeable, kind and fun. We learned all about the river and saw some great things. He put us right on the dolphins which was something I'll never forget. He was great with my 5 year old daughter. We will book with him again the next time we come down. If you are feeling weary, don't hesitate. Great guide, great fun!!

My family had a great time on this cruise! We booked it within pretty short notice and Capt Kirby was very accommodating and also informative during the ride. The boat was kept very clean and in great condition and you feel very welcomed. The length was perfect and the price is fair also. I would absolutely recommend to everyone wanting to relax, learn more about the area, or just looking for some time on the water.

We were so grateful for all of the previous amazing reviews! this is why we decided to book Captain Kirby for our sunset trip. He is so knowledgeable,very professional and an awesome boat. We got to see so many dolphins right off the bat and he is an explorer so he really wanted us to see the manatee. Maybe next time.

What a fun morning spent on the water with Capt Kirby. A beautiful tour of the river and peaceful back water areas. Saw dolphins, osprey and lovely flora. I can't wait for a return trip to Vero Beach- will be booking again!!!

Mr. Leonard is the perfect cruise captain for every occasion. Want a nice relaxing cruise of the river... he can show you all the cool spots and let you just enjoy. Want to go for a fishing trip? Mr. Leonard knows all the best spots around and is always quick to offer tips. He's funny, courteous, and very knowledgeable! Had an absolutely wonderful time on our sunset cruise. Kirby was extremely knowledgable of all wildlife see on tour (birds, fish, and dolphins!), in addition to the history and landmarks along the Indian River Lagoon. We were able to book last minute (an hour) before we set sail which was really convenient! His boat was a perfect size for a party of 6-8. Myself and guest only paid 30$ per person to have the entire boat to ourselves for an hour and a half to watch the sunset over the lagoon with a bottle of wine (had we planned sooner we could've brought a cheese plate or other appetizers)

I can't say enough about Captain Kirby. We chartered him today, for a 4 hour fishing trip. He not only put us on the fish, he also provided invaluable insight to the area/ Indian River Lagoon. We caught 6 different species of fish, and then he took us on an Eco cruise, where we saw Manatees, Bull sharks(where they were spawning) and dolphins. He should be a must visit on your trip to Vero, and even if you are local, you may want to try him.
