Karen Clum is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner specializing in general psychiatry across the lifespan. She brings two decades of experience in psychotherapeutic and pharmacologic management to Well Within. She most recently worked as an advanced provider at Saribalas Clinic, an established psychiatric and sleep medicine practice in central Ohio, as well as Thompkins Treatment, a child and adolescent community mental health center.
While she maintains her real education comes from seeing patients, she prepared for clinical practice with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, all of the clinical coursework for a Master's in clinical counseling, and a Master of Science degree in Nursing.Prior to her NP role, she has worked in a variety of settings in both the public and private sector, from cancer research to education.

Services
Appointments with our providers involve advanced nursing assessment in an therapeutic environment, and treatment is decided as a patient provider team. We write for psychiatric medications, though it is only one option we will consider as we develop our plan together. We encourage (though do not require) a treatment team approach for open dialogue among designated family members, primary care provider, and psychotherapist for optimal outcomes.

I have been seeing Chris for about three-and-a-half years. She helped me through my worst, when I absolutely did not want help, and now she has been with me through recovery to happiness. I cannot recommend Chris enough, she has helped to save my life. She is incredibly knowledgeable and takes your concerns to heart. She listens to what you want and what you need and then works with you to find the best medication possible for your life. She truly commits to her patience and creates an environment of safety, comfort, and support. You will be so happy you took the time to go talk with her!

Chris, NP and her staff are so kind and compassionate. She always makes recommendations in terms of medications and then puts the ball in my court to make the decisions. She takes time to check in on me not only mentally but my entire well being. She is always willing to go the extra mile! I am so glad I found her and her team!
