The general rule of thumb would be after burning approximately 1 cord of wood or every 2-3 years if you do not burn that much wood. Tried to tell me I needed a few thousand dollar repairs. Had me scared to death that my chimney was close to catching fire. Got two other 2nd opinions and there was nothing wrong as far as Chimney Doctor described. Replaced the flashing and all good for less than $1,000. Single women, BEWARE! get another opinion.

On the recommendation from a family member, we have used The Chimney Dr for many years for two homes we owned in the Peoria area. Todd and his team are friendly, honest, and simply the best in the area. They have done everything for us from normal chimney inspection/cleaning, to repair, to installing a gas insert. We recently converted our gas starter wood burning fireplace to only gas. Pricing was very fair, and Kyle/Jake did a great job explaining the work and making sure we understood the different options. Make sure to book early in the season as these guys are the best and definitely get busy

Todd was wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend him for all of your grilling needs! He is very knowledgeable in the grills he sells and has really great smoking and grilling tips! We had The Chimney Doctor replace our storm collar and also inspect and clean our gas fireplace. Kyle was very respectful and thorough when he came to clean the fireplace. There was a small issue with the storm collar being put on a different truck and, therefore, was not able to install the collar while he was here to do the cleaning. Would highly recommend The Chimney Doctor to anyone who needs chimney or fireplace work done.
